How long will you wait to see if your prediction is true?
It's not a prediction, it's a description of the US today...
Is Israel sane and civilized?
Not particularly, but for somewhat different reasons to its staunchest ally...

When disarming any law abiding citizen is seen as a good thing, a nation has been enslaved to those who control the arms, and its people are doomed to servitude and abuse.

It's good for our nation to be at the "smarter than all you dumbasses" end of the bell curve. Better us than you because that would shift the whole damned thing further towards evolutionary extinction of the human species.

Interesting when you consider that this "tiny" minority [citation needed] is concurrently alleged to also be a huge, gigantic influence.

I get the impression that you think that "civilized" is somehow good and better, like some kind of definable state and some kind of desirable goal. Once achieved is it assumed also that it can be sustained? What do you suppose all the consequences of such a subjectively defined state would be?

How do you know that people who think like you are "of the civilized world"? How do you know it's not you who has it wrong; it's all relative anyway, isn't it?

Were the Romans civilized?
The Persians?

Well, this is new. Guns are civilized. Have to get a special holster to wear to the symphony.

They are objects, they can reflect civilization, but I thought it was behavior that was civilized?

There are more Irish in America than in Ireland. Besides, WTF else were they going to get Armalites? Do you realize what a shit PR move it would have been for PIRA to use Kalashnikovs?

Lyin' in the dark with my Provo company,

And a clip of ammunition for me little Armalite..."

Blah, blah, blah, you've no larger a vocabulary than a parrot.

I do get it, I don't care what you think. I think people like you who judge a macro from a micro--spoon fed by media no less--are pretentious, cultural bigots and social justice warrior wannabes.
