And others locals said that they saw fighter jets, just before the plane came down. Whatever happened, the jet should never have been there. That's the one and only thing that you can be sure of.
You're quite prepared to quote any number of things from the rebels without qualification.
As to the claims of using passenger jets as cover: It's interesting that this claim is only being made now. It would have carried a lot more force a week ago. It's also very telling the claim is being made now, given their flat denials about being involved in the shoot-down.

That was a BBC reporter, talking to local people who witnessed the plane come down. It didn't come from the rebels.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.
