"Responsible" for terrorism

Post by Tero » Sun May 04, 2014 5:32 pm

I got into trouble for being too jaded, uncaring, about a terrorist event, namely the ongoing thing with the abducted girls in Nigeria
by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boko_Haram

The person, about ten years younger than me demanded on her facebook page that "something be done" in Nigeria. If Nigeria wants to allow an organization that has killed hundreds in the past 10 years, I don't see that my $$$ are going to do anything, no matter where I send them.

Thoughts?

Having read news of this region since 45 years ago, my sympathies for Nigeria, Biafra etc. are long gone

Just as an aside, to the unchanging nature of Africa. It did produce Doctors Without Boprders, though, that crisis.

Bleh, you can't joke with those... plus Finland does not have that many unemployed and ne'er do wells to send on the colonial forces.

I was thinking about that. They could colonize maybe Togo with some help from Sweden. Sweden has a king, that always helps.

France carved itself a nice colonial empire in Asia and Africa well after we got rid of kings... OK, we had an Emperor from 1848 till 1870...

They are good for stamps. Simple folk in Africa love pictures of kings with gold crowns. Can we get the gold from Togo after we invade?

Don't know, there's gold in the Congo/Katanga if we invade there... there's also gold in Ghana and the Gold Coast area...

Not Ghana though, it's 70% Christians. We need a country where we can send missionaries to convert Muslim infidels.

The responsibility lies solely with a fucking evil, fanatical religion, a mind virus that is a deadly poison.

I can't help but hum "A Whiter Shade of Pale" every time I see "Boko Haram".
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.
