This shows a stunning lack of scope, and basic knowledge. You are happy to compare yourself to 3rd world nations? Well done.
We're not third-world. Not by a long shot. Even the poor in America have flat-screen TVs, air conditioned homes, microwaves and automobiles. Compared to a blind leper in Bangladesh sitting in the mud begging for alms, they are inconceivably wealthy. It's all a matter of context. If everybody in America was making sixty grand a year, there would still be one percent making six billion a year, and the cost of living would rise so that sixty grand only buys a middle-class lifestyle. That's why they are called the "middle class." There will always be economic stratification, it's inevitable and inescapable. Every single attempt to level income/wealth ever attempted has ended in two things: universal poverty and privation and large-scale genocide.

That's what you fucking socialists can't get through your thick skulls, people don't want to be economically leveled with their neighbors, they want to do better than the neighbors.

And 15% unemployment DOESN'T mean 85% employment. You're smarter than that.
Nitpicking pettifoggery.
What all you pathetic, greedy, jealous progressive jackasses are complaining about is that a minuscule one percent of the population is very wealthy.
While the people who do all the work in society struggle to get by, not to mention the people that society has left behind.
And you think seizing and redistributing all the wealth in the hands of the 1% will fix that? You're too fucking stupid to live. You could take every dime the top 1% have and pass it out to everyone and it wouldn't do more than buy a nice meal and maybe a movie, then it would be gone, along with all the jobs that 1%er created by investing that capital in capitalism. All the wealth held by the top ten percent would run the government for less than six months.

The economic problem in the US, and everywhere else, is the fucking rapacious, ravenous, gluttonous, wasteful, bloated and fundamentally corrupt government that takes people's money and wastes it by the bale. First order of business to get the economy rolling is to amend the Commerce Clause to eliminate 90 percent of the federal government overnight.
Face it, you're simply inferior to them, and anyone else who makes more than you, and you're not worth more than you're getting paid right now, and probably never will be. So suck it up and get used to working for minimum wage because that's all your lazy socialist asses are worth.
You're a clown. Not even you believes this.
And you're a socialist fuckwit, and I absolutely believe it.

Then logically and due to self interest then your best bet is to get the minimum wage increased
At which point you will be fired from your job because you're not worth more. You are too fucking stupid to understand this. Money doesn't grow on trees, and when you raise the minimum wage, the people at the bottom of the labor pool, usually young, entry-level workers, particularly minority ones, get fired or can't get a job because if an employer is going to have to pay someone 10 bux an hour to flip burgers he's better off hiring an out-of-work adult who at least has a work history and working skills and who will be much, much more reliable than a flighty teenager. But it's the teenager who really needs the job because it prepares him for moving up the economic ladder by teaching him good work habits and skills, which he needs to get a better job in the future. So by raising the minimum wage you are dooming hundreds of thousands or millions of youths to perpetual underemployment or unemployment because they never have a chance to enter the workforce at an entry-level wage that represents their actual value to the employer...a value that increases with time and experience that is reflected in 95+percent of entry-level workers moving out of the minimum wage category within a year.

Less than 5 percent of workers are still getting minimum wage after a year on the job, and they are the permanently incompetent who stay hired only because they are marginally more profitable than training a new employee.

Socialist fuckwits just don't understand economics at all.

Arlo Guthrie joined the Republican party...?...to support Ron Paul. I suspect this happened because the Dems are now the establishment. Arlo can't be joining the E and supporting the NSA and such. But he never said he was libertarian.

Then obviously you make that illegal, if you are going to say all the peasants are scum them they had better gang up on government and do their negotiating with them instead of their employer

Not them, just you.

You can't get blood from a turnip. Raise the minimum wage and the employer has to cut costs exactly that much, which means somebody (or several somebodies) gets fired.

Basic economics. Simple enough for a child to understand.

Why can't you?

Ladies and germs, some of the comments have been getting mighty personal lately. Let's please try to dial that back a notch or two before staff have to get off their arses and do something. And we wouldn't like that to happen, would we? Nobody likes us when we do things.

Governments should not tell people what to do in their own bedrooms! :lay:

(OK, maybe they should tell people to change sheets every now and then, it's a health and safety issue...)

The obscenely wealthy always say that their accrued inheritences are morally justified by personal merit, it's just not necessarily their own. They also like to say that the financial inpoverishment of others is justified by personal failings and moral deliquency, again, just not necessarily that of the poor.
