I think you would get further if you cut the smarmy politeness and just lay your cards on the table. You think the mods fucked up, you don't agree with the warning, and you think you were singled out.

Two points:

1) 'smarmy' implies I'm being disingenuous with my politeness so it's an inaccurate word to use

2) my tone doesn't matter, people will find a reason to disagree with me regardless. Just look at you, you accused me of being a contrarian because I didn't believe that the Guardian was a feminist publication.

You undercut yourself by coming over to Ratz and calling RatSkep a shithole and the moderators moronic, and then going back to RatSkep oozing a facade of sweet reasonableness. This tends to lead people to believe you are not posting in good faith. And that even politely worded questions are just agitating.

People are allowed to attribute whatever insane conspiracy theory to me that they like. Being polite despite the fact that you think the people you are interacting with is not smarmy, it's just good manners.

I love the arrogance and ridiculousness of the feedback trolls. I've just had MoS try to lecture me on "rule lawyering"! I had to take a breather after laughing so hard before I could reply to him, given that my comments are simply: "Your rule says X but when you enforce the rule you ignore X" which is hardly "lawyering", whereas his entire presence on RatSkep seems to be to go into Feedback threads and desperately mangle comments and rules to make it look like the mods were right.

I hope he responds to my challenge of finding a post which contradicts the point I was making but I'm severely doubtful.

Someone must have ratted, as Kiore was lurking. He's never here. Unless he wanted to check what Samsa was saying about him, and incidentally came across me blabbing about my sock.

But yes, the stealth methods of that one weren't very good. But that was entirely on purpose. In fact, I'd tell you all about it and how you can all do it too, but for some reason I have some small semblance of respectability left that stops me from doing it.

But when I activate a posting sock (as opposed to a viewing sock), then they won't detect me (other than via meta-analysis of my posts).

I could post here wondering why you are meh about ratskep posts. Though I will answer anyway, RD.net was a great forum with loads of great threads and posters on it. They mostly jumped ship to ratskep and at first seemed to want to continue that tradition. Like any forum ratskep has its great members, average members and its idiots just like any forum really. It's the whole lions led by donkeys that pisses members and ex-members off. Anybody over there that tries to raise the debate/discussion above average is slapped down in a arbitrary fashion. The mods and admins over there are a bunch of power mad panty wastes, they over protected the mediocre and the plain dumb by making up the rules as they go along. Now Ratz and ratskep are joined at the hip as a lot of people are members of both forums and there is also a lot of banned ex-members here. So this is were we can air our grievances and it will probably get back to some of the members over there.
