Sean Faircloth is following me on Twitter. I hardly even use Twitter, but that's besides the point.lordpasternack wrote: Things are now developing in interesting ways within RDF, and rippling into the wider Freethought community… I may not actually be able to say much for quite some time yet, but rather interesting things are happening…
And Robin Elisabeth Cornwell and Mike Cornwell have been removed from the list of staff on RD.net.
It's impossible to gauge precisely what these things mean - but, interesting developments are still happening, and the theme tune of this thread is hereby upgraded:

When the fuck is this gonna blow up, we could do with some drama around here; imagine the click bait that would give us. Normally anyone criticizing Dawkins gets 1,000s of comments and even more views, yet still nothing. Lp could be naked with a sign saying Richie's foundation is a con whilst giving blowjobs to the heads of all the main stream media and we still wouldn't catch a break. When did we become the unfashionable part of the internet? Fess up who is wearing crocs? It's not fair.

We should be MOST skeptical of ideas we like because we are sufficiently skeptical of ideas that we don't like. Penn Jillette.

If and when it blows up, it probably won't reach here. Even I'll be a step removed from it, if I can help it.
I'm really focusing on preparing a comprehensive referral to the IRS just now - before possibly handing the full story as I understand it, to the media.
And I'd specifically be seeking an investigative journalist with some kind of decent reputation, to break the story to and liase with, if I were to go ahead with that. If I am to be actively involved in the story hitting the media - I would want the story to be done properly before the redtops run with it.
And that's why it's not happening quickly.
I think that that should simultaneously give Dawkins solace and makes his palms sweat. I have too much class to take a quick, half-arsed, sensationalised hatchet job to the media - but if and when it does hit the press, it will be authoritative and thorough.
He is simultaneously lucky and seriously unlucky that I have strong principles, and am thoroughly honest. But then he knew that right from the start, and that's part of the reason why he's always felt ambivalent about me - why he's flitted so much between being chummy with me, and telling people that I'm a shrieking harpy. The things that he admires most about me are also the things that he's feared most about me, since he first became aware of me.
I challenge authority and I take no prisoners - and if I were up against anyone else, Dawkins would likely be cheerleading from the sidelines. But as it happens, people were never supposed to challenge him with such attitudes, nor ask him for evidence - and he was supposed to get away with all his "secret agenda" nonsense with nary a peep from anyone. He was simply supposed to get away with everything. There was no Plan B. He couldn't be doing with with someone like me.
I can tell that he felt and still feels that he is not supposed to be held accountable, nor to incur actual real-world consequences for his actions and omissions - and to be honest that's one of my main motivations for, well, taking no prisoners - at least where the IRS is concerned...

If only he'd let you suck his dick, LP. Things would have gone so much better for him. Now he's going to get the full butt-reaming treatment with nary a drop of vaseline.

Although, that strategy apparently never worked for Paula Kirby - so we can't be sure.

Re: For Reason and Science?
I want to add - not that I have to justify myself, but just to say - that another, more important reason why I'm taking no prisoners is that I suspect Robin Elisabeth Cornwell of knowingly committing fraud. I suspect that NBGA was set up as a con, right from the outset. I think that Cornwell was most interested in proving, to herself, that atheists are just as gullible, credulous, and disinclined to seek evidence, as their religious counterparts. And I'm both proud and ashamed that I was likely the only one who got in her way.
Following from that - I think that RDF is far too fucking incompetent to launch a proper independent investigation into the situation, and they're probably looking to reach some sort of hush-hush legal agreement with the Cornwells in order to avoid formal litigation or criminal proceedings - which RDF probably can't afford, and which could backfire on RDF if the facts came to light.
That is, I suspect RE Cornwell of knowingly committing fraud, and that RDF probably know as much by now - but are more interested in sweeping it under the carpet than pursuing justice.
Moreover, I suspect that Cornwell has done this all before, and has got away with it all before, for much the same reasons. Everything about her personality, and particularly her preoccupation with projecting financial crimes onto others, suggests as much to me.
So, I believe that Cornwell has knowingly committed fraud, and that RDF are unwilling and most definitely unable to investigate properly and hold her to account. And I believe that Cornwell has been through this exact scenario before, probably more than once - and she's never been held to account.
And I believe that the best way to bring about a proper investigation, and potentially proper consequences for ALL parties concerned, is to call in the IRS.
