I'm not too surprised by that. Winnipeg is in the centre of a huge continental land mass, so it's a long way from the Ocean. The surface of the land gets cold and stays cold whereas the North Pole is only feet from the ocean, which circulates heat. And Winnipeg is nearly a thousand feet above sea level, whereas the North Pole is at sea level.
And, there's probably more to do at the North Pole.

Imagine they could just pick up that air in Oodnadatta and drop it at Winnipeg.

And vice versa, I should think. Some nice cold air would go down well in Oodnadatta, it's easier to get warm, than to get cool.

I pity the fool! It's supposed to be 40+ in SEQ for today and tomorrow. I can tell as of now, it's easily going to hit 40 everywhere but literally on the coast. And 40+ here is like 50+ of your dry heat. I'd look for aircon if I was you.

Just checked. Tomorrow is the real hot one. 41 in the inland suburbs of brisbane, 43 in Ipswich and the western suburbs, and 44 in Beaudesert just to the south of Brisbane. That's insane temperatures for Brisbane.

....I'm still trying to work out why anyone would want to live there. It looks like a failed Mars colony, or something.
In fact, I'll bet Mars has more water per square mile.

Just checked the Brissy forecast and it's going to be a bit humid too. I'm staying in Caboolture which might be a couple of degrees cooler. At least I have air conditioned hire car and motel room.
