Using tree rings as a proxy for temperature had been largely discredited.
That's not to say that they should be ignored, but you can't rely on them. Trees don't just respond to temperature, there are many other factors in their growth.
Also, they are regional, so unless you have data from worldwide studies, they can give a very false impression.

Actually, I understand it far better than you do. Adapt or die. It's the ultimate answer to this "problem" you claim exists. In reality it's not a problem at all, because through adaptation humans will become better evolutionary survivors, thus improving their position as the apex organisms on earth. Only the weak and defective will die as a result of climate change, and that's a good thing, evolutionarily speaking.

Two of five families forced from their homes by chronic air pollution from oil sands facilities in Peace River have filed a court injection to stop Baytex Energy from using the atmosphere as a toxic garbage dump.

The injunction application, now before Court of Queen's Bench, seeks to stop the company from venting toxic gases from 86 bitumen storage tanks in the Reno Field just south of the town of Peace River for a period of eight months.

"Baytex leaves the top hatches open on its processing tanks and the aerosol plumes make you dizzy, gives you the worst headache you can imagine, makes your throat and nose sore and lots of other bad health effects," said Alain Labrecque, one of the family seeking an injunction.

We need the energy more than the pollution harms anything, so buy out the complainers so they can move somewhere else and get on with it.

Notice the "buy out" part, which comports fully with Libertarian philosophy.

But yes, the basic principle is that they are "exporting harm" from their facility and thus are initiating force on the neighbors, so long as the neighbors were there before the processing facility was built. If they moved in after it was built, they moved in knowing and accepting the fumes as an existing use so they consented to the use by moving there.
