The hardwired difference between male and female brains

Basically, we knew already, as a matter of common experience if nothing else, that there are differences between way the 'typical' female* thinks and the way the 'typical' male* thinks; all this study does is map out what those differences look like at the neurological level - it says absolutely nothing as to what the causes of these differences are.

In other words this study strengthens neither the 'nature' or 'nurture' side of the arguments.

If that occurs during adolescence, it actually sounds like it could be more of a cultural effect. In the brain the connection most used gets strengthened.

Well let's not forget the physical changes and the crazy rampage of hormones and neuropeptides, transmitters and all sorts of juices that also arrives with the onset of puberty. That predates any culture and is perhaps likely to inform any culture that develops.
