Gun nuts: how did the middle schooler get a gun in Reno? From idiots. Should we give guns to idiots?

Fallacy.

Of course we shouldn't give guns to idiots, but that doesn't mean that everyone is an idiot or that we must not give guns to anyone because some of them might be idiots. We deal with the idiots who get ahold of a gun just like we deal with any other idiot who does something idiotic, we punish them for doing it. We don't punish everybody else because he MIGHT do something idiotic. That would be...idiotic.

Moronic fallacy.

Knives that are suitable as weapons are illegal to carry almost everywhere. We don't wait till people do something idiotic. We ban people from carrying them. And many kinds of knives are banned from being owned or imported.

Guns are much more effective weapons than knives.
It's only because they are pathetic wankers, that people don't want guns banned. They don't want to give up the fantasy of being Clint Eastwood or John Wayne, the big man with the big gun.
Tossers.

And that prevents criminals and nuts from getting, carrying and using knives to commit crimes how, exactly?

Yes, they are.

Two and a half million people a year disagree with you. I'll go with their judgment thanks.

Oh, you should be suspended for insulting me indirectly since I'm a gun owner, so I'm going to report you.

You're pretty insulting about yourself. But even your own insults go above your own head. :funny:

I wonder if anyone has done a study into what part of the population the 'anti-gunners' come from? I'd bet good money that it's largely the urban population that lives in secure neighbourhoods, probably with CCTV cameras on every corner and a policeman on every block. I wouldn't bet that they live in rural areas and I wouldn't bet that they live in the slums.

I own three firearms. I guess that makes me a triple idiot. A triple idiot that apparently has a better grasp of logic and argumentation than the majority of anti-gun people.

Most studies show that it's the people who need guns the least, who buy them the most.

Do you shoot critters? Do you live in a slum? If so, you can have a gun for each purpose.

Care to cite just one of these "studies" you claim exist?

Oct 7:

By Bettina Boxall
Los Angeles Times

LA HABRA, Calif. — An off-duty La Habra police officer was shot with his own weapon early Saturday during a fight after a traffic accident on the 5 Freeway in Castaic, authorities said.

The shooting is under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which said the officer's injuries were not life threatening.

The incident occurred near Templin Highway at 5:15 a.m., when the officer was involved in a traffic collision. During a subsequent struggle, the other driver used the officer's handgun to shoot him, according to the Sheriff's Department.

The gun has not been recovered, and no description of the suspect or his vehicle was released.
