"This is an outrage up with which I shall not put!"

I suspect he'd be warning about the real threat of totalitarian Russia rolling westwards and southwards.

And he'd be ridiculed for it - as he was about the Nazis.

I'd guess one of two things. Either "Oooh yes!" or "blahbha burr blu ba blubba blooor" which when translated would no doubt be the greatest aphorism in human history.

? How so?

He warned repeatedly about the rising military power of Germany, and about their expansionist intentions, didn't he?

Didn't he also warn about the fact that Britain was reducing defence expenditure and was losing ground to Germany militarily, and that this would be a very great danger for Britain?

That was my sense of things when I read a biography or two. Mind you, biographies of Churchill do tend to the hagiographic...

I'm in no doubt that the West would still prevail, but the carnage, and the aftermath, are truly scary to consider.

I wasn't mocking the decrepit I was considering him in his prime. Couldn't make out a word the fucker was saying, like that Jewish poet Rabbi Burns, I'm sure it's all very profound but I refuse to make the effort. :{D
