Most of what pundits and theorists say about economy is indeed dogtalk... but I swear that a serious student who sticks to the fact and to well researched studies and figures can get some understanding of how money works, flows, get the cycles, and whatnot... just don't try to get it all, make major predictions (though most things, including the subprime mortgage crisis are indeed predictable if you look at it and pay attention), or attempt to revolutionize the whole system.
Same with priests....some are playing the system and make a comfortable enough living doing it.

You can live without religion, a society with no economy is dead.

Economics is not the same thing at all as an economy.

Economics is the delusion that because one has found a formula that neatly encapsulates something that happened in the past, that his formula can be applied to forecast a future event.

And this delusion is at the heart of all current banking regulations as they apply to risk capital. It is a core reason for this current crash.

That's the most coherent thing I think I've seen you type.
 I was also think that too, as it is exactly what I was trying to say, but said a hell of a lot better and more succinctly.

Elliot waves are the prayers of economics geeks. Sometimes they come through....sometimes they don't big time. :coffee:
