I'm talking about an equivalent to Colbert/Stewart from the right, just like this thread is about. Your quote above reads as if you are comparing the nutbags on the right to the nutbags on the left. I.e. that's the equivalent I read you as talking about. And either way, all those examples you gave earlier were from the past (I can't comment on any of them, as aside from the movie ones (which aren't equivalent) I don't know what the other ones are). What are the equivalents today?

Additionally, the reason why I emphasised that I had pointed out that there probably would be equivalents is that you seemed to misunderstand what "generalise" means, and seemed to be suggesting I was being dishonest or specious or something.

See, for my show I'd dress up while conducting "serious" phone interviews so the person on the phone couldn't see. So if I was interviewing on immigration, I'd have on a sombrero, big fake mustache and chug from a bottle of tequila. Race issue I could be in black face eating KFC and watermelon. Women's issues would get a hugh heffner smoking jacket and a few bikini girls. Bad drag queen for gay issues, turban and explosive vest for middle eastern issues. Not that I'd ever talk about France, but I could wear a silly beret and pencil mustache.

The far left is just as odious as the far right, IMO, but they're not as funny for some reason. I can't really put my finger on why they're not funny, but they're just not.They're sad, pathetic, and annoying. Alan Bleasdale's G.B.H. was one of the funniest things I've ever seen about the left. Mostly because at the exact time it was on, I knew about a dozen "unionists" who were exactly like Robert Lindsay's self serving egoist and who were oblivious to the fact.
