We've got plenty of colourful phrases in Oz, but of course, most of them fail me at the moment. The only two I can think of are:

Mad as a shithouse rat.
Mad as a cut snake.

I have a some friends that just call people "ass-bastards" with no adjective.

They're also prone to ask "What the fuck is your helling problem?"
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."
