I don't know why, but the expression "a neuroscientist in Turin" immediately made me doubt what followed.
The Italians are a special breed.
Anyway, you could certainly connect up all the bits. But making it all work again is a different matter.
It's not like you have black wires, and red wires, and a wiring diagram. Each individual will have a different layout. It's not like making one car out of two identical halves.
All you can do it connect up as best you can, and hope some of it eventually works.
They haven't transplanted a mouse's head onto another mouse's body yet, and made it work. It's a different kettle of fish, altogether.

I wouldn't even want a meatbag. Full cyborg for me thanks
Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

Well the current heart and lung machines and replacements for other necessary organs, intake of food is fairly easy if you don't mind pre-processed supplements, but dialysis etc - the technology is still too big to be fitted into a normal sized humanoid robot body. So you'll have to be an eighteen ton, diesel powered, hydraulic robot tank. I hope that's OK?Azathoth wrote:I wouldn't even want a meatbag. Full cyborg for me thanks

Re: Head Transplants Now "Technically Possible"
As limbs, faces, internal organs and now, apparently, heads can be transplanted, one could, if minded, cobble together a person from the bits that were still warm at the morgue. I don't know why you would want to but I bet someone does it.....

You would only need to support the brain. Everything else is in the bin. So you wouldn't need much dialysis etc. It could all be smaller. Just a single blood maintenance unit, and a pump. Of course, the blood maintenance unit would have to be pretty clever. But not necessarlily all that big.
