Yes, please move Kristie's shit where it belongs: the dustbin.

Fuck off, Kristie. If you don't want to read the thread, then exercise some index finger control and scroll past it.
Fuck you. You know this gun bullshit belongs in its own playpen.
No I don't. It belongs in News, Current Events and Politics because that's exactly what it's about.

Why should the visibility of such subjects be restricted just because you're too lazy or intellectually stunted to scroll past what you consider to be an unpleasant topic?

That's fucking censorship and you know it. Hypocrite.
I'm not against censorship in certain cases. I'm not a hypocrite. This was discussed, and you lost. Get over it.
Lost? When?

Because I still have my guns. So... yeah...

That doesn't mean you're not a hypocrite, because you are. It just means the tyrannical masses are all hypocrites along with you.

It's not censorship, although I'm not clear on how it would make us hypocrites if it was, it is categorization. Look around Rationalia and you'll notice we don't glop all topics into one big pot. It was decided that threads centering around gun debates should have their own forum as they had become so many.

So.. what's your beef again?

His beef is that this allows people to choose not to view the gun-ranting threads...

Yeah. we wouldn't want to get in the way of discussing Angelina Jolie's tits and other such pressing matters.

That the sole and exclusive purpose of this "categorization" is to censor gun discussions by placing them in an obscure corner of the website where idiots without index finger control will not be tasked with scrolling past them.

Your claim is just so much bullshit and you know it. Gun threads were hidden away because some people object to them and don't even want to see a thread in the general news category about guns.

It's pure undiluted censorship.

It's also mendacious intellectual pigmyism.

Ignoring that this is pure nonsense for the moment, everybody should be forced to labor on behalf of the repetitious, antagonistic and willfully intransigent why, exactly?

No, that's exactly NOT my beef. Every single member of this forum has the absolute, plenary and unlimited power to CHOOSE not to view "gun-ranting threads." Your obviously biased characterization shows just how much you are part of the problem.

All anyone has to do to avoid such unpleasantness is to SCROLL PAST a gun-related thread in the general news and current events forum.

That's it.

That is a personal, undeniable, absolute CHOICE, is it not?

What you have set up is a DENIAL OF CHOICE. It's a denial of choice both for the author, who may (and I indeed do) want the subject thread in the general news forum, where it belongs, if it's news, current events or politics related, as most such threads are.

Also, by shuffling such discussions off into "the gun club" you are marginalizing the debate by placing it in an obscure corner of the forum where browsers are not likely to go. Whereas a provocative thread title in the general news section about a gun-related news, political or current event might pique the interest of a lurklng browser, having to click through to an obscure sub-forum named "the gun club" means it's far less likely that a casual browser will go there.

And the express and explicit reason for creating the sub-forum, as evidenced by posts related to its formation, was not "organization" it was censorship. It's specific intent was to censor the thread titles in the general area so that some members, who don't like such discussions, wouldn't have to be disturbed by seeing so much as the titles of the threads, and so that they can conveniently skip past any such discussions.

And that's the fucking truth and you know it.

It's massive hypocrisy in a so-called 'rational" forum that is supposedly dedicated to open and free-ranging discussion. It's exactly what happened at RDF and RatSkep. Unpopular opinions and posters were first marginalized, then excluded.

Shame on all of you. You're all a bunch of childish intellectual pigmies.

Quoted for truth.

I'm liberal on many things (ask if you really don't believe), guns obviously not being one of them, but I consider this forum and ratskep to be insanely, wildly liberal. There is a very obvious liberal bias. There is nothing "rational" about this or any other "rational" forum. Really... they should be considered liberal forums, not "rational" forums.

It did not go unnoticed that this "Gun Club" section conveniently appeared right after my arrival. The timing of which, clearly demonstrated the thinking, "OMG not another pro-gun person! I can't stand having to keep looking at these guns threads. Here, let's just make a sub-section for it so we don't have to see it any more."

The only thing that would have made this line of thinking more obvious, is if I could read minds.

Putting gun threads in a far corner of the forum makes it obvious that it's an issue many don't want to even have to look at. The attempt to marginalize the subject is obvious. Which pretty much makes this a liberal forum, not a "rational" forum, especially since the motivation to put gun threads in a far corner is purely emotional and not rational in the least.

It's classification, if there were a 100 topics on on the theme of changing the speed limit I would hope the mods would create a subcategory of speed limits or car politics.

Gun's are a niche area, a minor/irrelevant issue to most of the world
When only criminals carry guns the police know exactly who to shoot!
