"Awoken" is more about the state of having been awakened. "Awakened" is more about the passive process.

The Gaelic means, "Dinnae be sae daft or sae grumphy!"

The Scots song which has the line "Did ivver ye see sic an ill-trickit loon?" was one I heard Jean Redpath sing. It was a bit of mouth-music, with typically nonsensical words, to the same tune as "The black bull's broken oot an bullit aa the kye", and the Gaelic Brochan Lom.

"Ill-trickit" is a term I don't have in my own idiolect: I believe it's from the north-east (where of course "loon" meaning "bloke" also comes from), and I think it just means "ugly". No offence, like! :flowers:
