Nope. You have some very specialised requirements for which adequate packages may just not be available on Linux. But for the vast majority of what people do on their computers, Linux would be more than adequate. Probably only fear or the unknown / inertia / file format concerns* are stopping more people from moving.
*Which are really Microsoft's fault.
So it's fun for surfing, gaming, etc.? Reason I asked is that with this new 3T drive I have room for a partition and a Linux install. But so far I don't have the motivation.
Gaming I'm not so sure about, although it might well be that Linux ends up as the platform of choice for "serious" gamers.
But for everything else, it's just fine. More than fine in fact. Remember that a lot of software is cross-platform these days, and in some cases at least you'll be using the same programs regardless of the operating system.
