You'd be the example of where that bar is set. I think your low vantage point skews your view.

Hi!

Here's to hoping for less snobbery than Ratskep. :td:
No snobbery, but lots of eye rolling about crazed American gun freaks...
Shooting, hunting, reloading, competition, and collecting firearms, are all legitimate hobbies.

That kind of judgmental, "I'm better than you because I think people who like guns are 'crazy' and 'freaks'" is exactly the kind of douchebaggery and snobbery I was talking about.

I also keep planted, tropical aquariums and breed Angelfish. I suppose you're going to judge me and call me some kind of weirdo freak for that too?

It's absolutely appalling that you judge other human beings because they enjoy a hobby and a culture you do not understand. It's disgusting. It's ignorant. It's essentially a form a bigotry. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Done a lot of hunting in my time, here in Oz, had a few rifles and enjoyed shooting them. So it's not an anti-gun perspective I'm coming from...

I'm rolling my eyes at the freaks who drool all over hand-guns, talk how they need them for self defence like they're living in the old West, and get a hard-on over that weird shit amendment of yours, all about the rights of bears to have arms, or some such shit...

Hand guns, long guns, whatever. I guess I don't see why it really matters to you or anyone else what strikes another persons fancy or not. That's like saying it's okay to like Chevys, but not Fords, or sedans, but not muscle cars.

My personal favorite firearm is the AR-15. I'm in the middle of building one right now for CMP Service Rifle competition. You shoot all the way out to 600 yards with iron sights only. The AR-15 is one of the most ingeniously designed rifles of all time, hence it being the #1 selling rifle in the US. It's remarkably simple. You can just buy the parts and put it together yourself, like a PC or something, and pick out all the specific parts you want. Like with WWII and the M1 Garand, many service members retain the regard for their service rifle after serving.

There's absolutely nothing "weird shit" about the 2nd Amendment. There's nothing worse than the State having a monopoly on guns and then the citizenry being at their mercy. The 2nd Amendment is an insurance policy against tyranny.

This line of thinking that people, "get a hard on" and think they're, "living in the wild west" is just ignorant bullshit, a total misunderstanding of culture, and stereotyped thinking.

Actually the AR-15 is a piece of shit. A triumph of poor design.

Well, I and a lot of others here think the views on guns you represent are dangerous, selfish crap, and contribute to the absurdly high murder rate in the US, as well as allowing lots and lots of innocent victims to be gunned down by morons with guns.

So, get stuffed...

Well, I live in America, where we have liberty, not some collectivist shit hole... so get stuffed.

You don't live in the US so why do you give a fuck about the murder rate? I live here. I'm not worried about getting shot.

I live in Minnesota where I can carry concealed pretty much where ever I want, even though I usually don't. Just down the way in Chicago, I can't, and they have much more murders.

It's not really fair to compare America, to Australia or the UK who are used to be being disarmed. Look at the murder rates between the US and the UK before they banned guns in the UK, then look at the murder rates after they banned guns in the UK. Same fucking ratio. The UK (and Australia too probably) always had lower murder rates than the US. It had nothing to do with banning guns, and everything to do with culture.

Fear should not trump liberty. We fought for our freedom with firearms. It's a part of our culture, there's no changing that. I would much rather live with a little more risk, if any, and keep my individual liberty, than be oppressed in the name of my own safety, fuck that shit. Taking away people's right to defend themselves and making them dependent on the government is absolutely retarded.

Jim, you're just sore because you don't have Liberty like we do. Liberty being easy access to instruments of murder and mayhem, and the love thereof :swoon:
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.
