A 9-year-old girl who was carrying twins, and whose stepfather is suspected of raping her, underwent an abortion on Wednesday despite complaints from Brazil's Roman Catholic Church. The stepfather has been jailed since last week, the police said. Abortion is illegal in Brazil, the country with the most Roman Catholics, but judges can make exceptions if the mother's life is in danger or the fetus has no chance of survival. Fatima Maia, director of the public university hospital where the abortion was performed, said the pregnancy, which was in its 15th week, posed a serious risk to the girl, who weighs 80 pounds. But Marcio Miranda, a lawyer for the Archdiocese of Olinda and Recife in northeastern Brazil, said the girl should have carried the twins to term and had a Caesarean section. "It's the law of God: Do not kill," he said in comments reported by the newspaper O Globo.

Gee, I can't imagine why a nine year old wouldn't want to give birth to her stepdaddy's twins..

Church to excommunicate abortion girl's mother, doctors
An archbishop for the northern region of Brazil where the termination was conducted, Father Jose Cardoso Sobrinho, said the church was excommunicating all adults responsible for the abortion.
The operation - carried out because of doctors' fears the slender girl might die if she carried the fetuses to term - was a crime in the eyes of the chuch, he said.
"God's law is above any human law. So when a human law ... is contrary to God's law, this human law has no value,'' Archbishop Cardoso told the news television network Globo.
"The adults who approved, who carried out this abortion, will be excommunicated,'' said the archbishop for the Recife region.
Where are these greatly extolled virtues of compassion and forgiveness?
Human law has no value?!? Sharia, anyone?
Are these guys on crack? Seriously, excommunication is doing them a favour!

A third that motion. Always hated the creepy, transvestite cunts ever since I was a kid.
My dad hates them even more. Unfortunately I missed out on the punishment beatings, humiliations and shame.

Oh, I got it.
For not knowing some sky fairy bollocks about some mythical creature I had the privilege of having the sharp end of one of those cunting great blackboard compasses rammed in to my arm until it drew blood - at the age of nine.
I've never forgotten the correct term is the "desolate one", and not the "desperate one".

Shouldn't be too hard to find a senior member of the catholic church that likes to fuck (well, not if you're 11 years old anyway!)
Sick fucking bastits would happily watch the poor girl die along with the twins and baptise the foetuses - two more souls for fucking jeebus. Cunts!

The Archbishop of Olinda and Recife, Jose Cardoso Sobrinho, said the excommunication would apply to the child's mother and the doctors, but not to the girl because of her age.
But his actions were criticised by President Lula, who said: "As a Christian and a Catholic I deeply regret that a bishop of the Catholic Church has such a conservative attitude.
"The doctors did what had to be done: save the life of a girl nine years old.
"In this case, the medical profession was more right than the Church," AFP news agency quoted him as saying.

Excommunication would be the biggest "blessing" that poor girl and mother could ever receive. I hate the woo and those who force it upon others more and more each day.

I didn't. I did, fortunately, miss out on the rape.
There was a case in Brazil, some years ago, of a five-year-old girl being pregnant. She was forced to carry to term. The doctor who handled the case wrote a book about it. Unfortunately, I don't read Portuguese.
"Her eye was on the sparrow. Her mind was on the dove,
But no one cared and no one dared to speak to her of love.
Her eyes are always hooded. Her claws are sharp as steel.
We teach her not to see too much. We teach her not to feel."
