IMHO is just an offshoot of the naturally occurring "goth", but with internet access and a you tube account.

They now also have a limited number of pre-defined personalities to choose from too. Marketers have created the 'emo', the 'goth', etc.
They have been creating youth cultures ever since there were youths with money that they could sell to. Don't think the youth 'movements' of the 50's or 60's were any different - they were all about selling clothes and records.
Yeah... but the marketers certainly have a lot more direct pcontrol over the kids now than they did back then.

The chav has always been amongst us. Formerly we could ship them off to Australia, when their numbers became excessive. Now we are stuck with them, until we are utterly overwhelmed and they have established, in this United Kingdom, their very own Chavalon.

A damned good thrashing, that's what they need.

Emo. Emotional hardcore punk was an 80s movement, shortened to emo. The term was revived more recently to describe cocksuckers who think it's cool to glorify self-mutilation.

Everything came before My Chemical Romance. They are wanky, derivative, talentless tossers. But their mother's like them.

Back in the mid to late 80's when I was at college there was a plethora of different tribes (when I left school I was in severe danger of almost nearly becoming a "Sharon" (of Sharon and Gary infamy) which I think was a precursor to the chav) . Anyway, I got to college and thank fuck, there was more choice! There were goths, grunge(rs?) (the beginning of anyway) the indies (smiths etc at the time), greebos with their patchouli (yes, that's what we called them), heavy metal dudes (but back then it was more bon jovi and final countdown :|~ sorry!) still more sharons (mainly in the hairdressing and beauty dept) and Gary's (mainly in the sports or motor mechanic areas) and complete misfits like me (thank fuck and hallelujah) and millions of Madonnas complete with large crucifixes.
Even then, I marvelled at how people thought they were being completely unique and individual yet there they were in their little groups of clones. Well, it will probably always be this way unless we start a different youth culture dynamic like perhaps initiation ceremonies and walkabouts. Who knows, stranger things have happened in my bowl of soup.

Well good article. If the paper don't publish it their shit.
Try national papers too, not the Daily Mail. Then tell us where and when it's published so we can grab a copy and say "yeah, I spoke to this guy online."
Ratz it's more addictive than facebook and more fun than crack!

Well I could do the Daily Mail if I replaced 'corporates' with 'Muslims'. I tried contacting the Guardian recently but I've had trouble finding the appropriate information

I found that pic rather endearing, actually. Seems pretty typical of the hilarity people indulge in without self-consciousness or embarassment around close family and/or friends.

You are most certainly not retarded (and neither is he :hehe: and if he was, I wouldn't take offence. They are just words and I have a feeling that there is no deep intention to cause suffering to others.) no, it's to do with your character; your humour and inquisitiveness, questioning of all you perceive. Seeing that there's another road other than the same old same old.
I think you're fab mate  And as for all the bollocks, the shock tactics and the attention seeking (which I've only just read elsewhere), well, therein lies your potential. By that I mean if you are as able to inquire within as you are regarding your surrounding world, then those "negative" aspects of your character can be the most valuable teachers. If you want, of course.
