Anti Gun Protester Says Shed Rather Be Killed Than Use a Gun in Self Defense

(WGCL-TV)

A crowd of people rallied against gun violence at the Georgia State Capitol in honor of Trayvon Martin Tuesday, the one year anniversary of his shooting death. Many of the protesters were speaking out against so-called “stand your ground” laws, which allow gun owners to use deadly force if they feel as if their lives are in danger.

During the rally, one female protester — wearing an Obama hat — told WGCL-TV that using a firearm in self-defense “is not an option.”

“It’s not an option,” she repeated.

The reporter then asked her, “But what if someone is trying to kill you?” She replied, “They’ll just have to kill me.”

CBS Atlanta 46

“What an incredible admission on this woman’s part,” CNSNews.com’s Stephen Gutowski writes. “She’s willing to let everybody know that she’d rather be murdered than use a gun in self defense. She’d rather be a victim than be armed.”

Another protester said gun control only hurts law-abiding gun owners, not criminals.

“I think that people should have the right to defend themselves. It’s our Second Amendment right and any sort of legislation on guns or any sort of gun control, all it’s doing is hurting the victims.”
Could this nutbar be MrJonno? Hmmmm.

Dog shoots man accidentally, police say
It's a case of dog shoots man, not man shoots dog. Well, sort of.

A Frostproof man reported to Sebring police on Feb. 23 that he was traveling in his truck when his dog kicked a gun on the truck's floor, resulting in him being shot in the leg, according to a report.

Sebring police ruled the shooting accidental, and apparently the victim was not seriously injured.

Sebring Police Cmdr. Steve Carr said police did not arrest the dog or detain the animal, pending the investigation. He said he has never heard of a case like this.

Gregory Dale Lanier, 35, the victim, told investigators that he thought the gun in his pickup truck was not loaded.

He said that he was driving on State Road 17 North "when his dog kicked his unloaded .380 pistol causing it to fire and the bullet struck his leg. Lanier said he heard boom, saw smoke and felt a burning in his leg."

The report said Lanier was not only surprised that the gun was loaded, but also that it was actually a 9mm weapon.

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

Don't expect that to make any sense. I'm drunk is all.

Houston homeowner holds 3 burglary suspects at gunpoint until cops arrive

A man came home Wednesday morning to find three juvenile suspects inside his northwest Houston home, police said. view full article

When Randy Magdeleno arrived home Wednesday morning, he found three burglary suspects running around his Houston home. It was a terrifying situation, he said, but thankfully he had his gun to protect him.

The problem was, the .22LR bolt-action rifle was unloaded. But the burglars didn’t know that.

The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. Magdeleno said he heard voices as soon as he entered his home after dropping his wife off at work.

“So I grabbed my rifle and I came around through here in my kitchen,” he told KHOU-TV. “It was scary, I didn’t know what I was walking into and hearing people running around inside my house at the same time. I didn’t know if they were carrying weapons around or not.”

After retrieving his rifle, Magdelena ordered two juveniles to the floor. The third suspect was upstairs but the homeowner was able to order him on the floor as well.

“I sneaked up on them and told them to lay on the ground on their stomachs,” he said.

“I wanted to keep them calm because I was outnumbered and you know, like I said, at anytime if they felt fear, I know they would have overtaken me,” he added.

(KPRC-TV)

While he had all three suspects detained at gunpoint, he speed dialed his wife and told her to call 911. Police arrived minutes later and took the three juveniles into custody.

It was really the best outcome anyone could’ve asked for. KPRC-TV reports the suspects were just 14-years-old.

A short time later, one of the suspect’s father brought his son back to Magdeleno’s house and made him apologize for the attempted robbery.

The Northwest Houston neighborhood where the robbery occurred has apparently been hit with a number of burglaries recently — and homeowners are tired of it.

“We aren’t going to put up with this,” one woman said.

As we’ve pointed out in the past, breaking into a Texas home is not advised. Burglars enter at your own risk.

General principle.

Anyone who relies on anecdotes to make their point is generally spouting bullshit.

"The plural of anecdote is not data."
For every human action, there is a rationalisation and a reason. Only sometimes do they coincide.
