This is too tiresome.
Yes, you folks do worship the ground he walks on, which is why any little criticism of him has many of you rushing to the rescue like White Knights. Many of you can't even laugh and joke about the guy.
And I wasn't talking about you folks anyway -- I said our culture, our country - the last couple generations -- that's who is going to allow us to become more and more authoritarian. They're being raised that way.
I'm tiresome? You're the one who went on a posterizing streak today.
That's what the thread is about. Political Posterizing. It's not "Political Posterizing, except about stuff that insults Obama, Democrats or anything else that bothers Ian and 'Zilla"

If you think we worship Obama, stop listening to whatever right-wing crap you read/listen to.
I don't listen to right wing crap and I'm not right wing, but of course you have to be a dick and constantly ignore the fact that you know full well that I am left of center on the issues, with the exception of economics and the Iraq War. So, fuck off with this "stop with the right wing crap." It's the tiresome bullshit that I was referring to. If you want to post political cartoons and posters, post them.
Stop fucking getting all bunged up about the fact that you think some of the items are "bullshit" -- news flash, genius -- all of these posters including the ones you post are "bullshit" to those that support the persons you're lampooning.

Think you can stomach Bill Maher?
Sure, I watch him a lot, ever since Politically Incorrect in the 1990s.

Review his show from this past week. We left-of-center types have plenty of gripes about him.
I'm left of center.
Ian wrote:
Most of it has to do with him not being enough of an ideologue, but there are some more pragmatic ones. I think you know this and just don't like to admit it, but I might be giving you too much credit.
What the fuck does Bill Maher have to do with anything and why the fuck are you insulting me? If you are not an Obama cheerleader, then go ahead -- post some pointed criticisms of him in a serious thread, and post some barbed witticisms at his expense in this thread. Spend a fair amount of time doing that, rather than every time running to his rescue like he's your girlfriend and someone questioned her honor.
Ian wrote:
I can laugh about him just fine - but I don't do it when the joke is based on bullshit.
So, post the funny witticisms that you think are much better. Let's see the barbed sarcasm and irony -- the rapier-like skewering of Obama in the "right" way. Go on.

I don't agree about the country becoming more authoritarian either. Wasn't there a post awhile back about some of the freedoms we enjoy today that were unheard of two generations ago? Try not to worry about waking up in some tyrannical dystopia - that's typical conservative paranoia talking, but it's not based on much reality, IMHO. Posts like the ones you put up today make me confuse you with Seth. Fear, blaming liberals for being just as bad as conservatives (not exactly a moral high ground), and half-truths.
I'm not worried about awakening a tyrannical dystopia. And, I didn't blame Obama. The centralization of power has been going on under Democratic and Republican Administrations and Congresses. You, of course, took it as an insult to Obama, even though I stated flat out "I'm not blaming Obama."
And, the posts I put up today are fucking JOKES, Ian. It's humor. It's a humorous thread. Of course you think it's "half truths" because anything that doesn't spend sufficient time qualifying that "Obama and the Democrats are not to blame for anything, and they only have the best interests of everyone at heart equally" is to you an "untruth."
Yes -- liberals do bear blame. So do conservatives. So do Republicans and so do Democrats. You don't think that's true, because you always argue that saying the Democrats or Obama have done wrong or are to blame is creating a false equivalency. That's why you're a cheerleader. Because you can't even see a few jokes posted in a joke thread without rushing in and defending the matter, as if everything posted here ought to be a complete political dissertation that doesn't poke real fun at anyone on your side. Of course, there hasn't been a single time whatsoever where you've taken to task any posts that were half-truths or untruths about Republicans, right? Right. With those half-truths and untruths they "are good for sparking debate and discussion" about an issue -- like the reaction of folks here to the videos and ads where Romney was falsely blamed for giving some lady cancer. That wasn't "unfair" and "stupid" -- that sparked meaningful debate on the healthcare issue.
