I forgot to say. Hades, I never cared much for The Police, but holy Christ did I love Dream of the Blue Turtles :swoon:

I loved Stewart Copeland's band Animal Logic as well.
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

You know, a friend of mine had this backstage/making of/behind the scenes type documentary for the Police, that we'd watch in college (not as often as we watched Zappa's "Does Humor Belong in Music," or ELP something or other...)

Interesting to see how viscerally SC seemed to hate Sting's guts.

Now that I'm older, I get it. But I still like listening to him. And yeah, it's a great album.

I saw the Police on their first American club tour. They had one album. They played all songs. Then they played them again. It had a good beat and you could dance to it.

Roxette is a tango of sorts. Some people were fooled.

The Police were my first too... (On cassette.)

I'm sure there's stuff on YouTube to back up my claim, but I'm one of those who wishes music was still an audio phenomenon.

I liked the odd Police song here and there like "Canary in a Coal Mine" and "The Bed's Too Big." But other than that I didn't have much use for them. But When Dream of the Blue Turtles came out, I was absolutely blown away  I bought the next few Sting albums, but gradually lost interest as the quality of his records waned. At first it was like, okay this is awesome but nowhere near as good as Dream of the Blue Turtles. And then it was like, alright this one's pretty good I guess. And then it was like, is it just my imagination or is every album not as good as the last. And then it was, okay I guess I like that single so I may as well get the album. And then finally it was, meh, I ain't gonna bother.

Anyway I had no idea Stewart hated him so much  Or hated him at all for that matter. What was that all about? Is Sting a twat?

The animosity between the two is famous. There are even tales of them going on stage with broken bones after fights behind the scenes!

Not famous over here, or at least I'm just clueless as usual. Wow. What was the source of the friction? Sting's big ego I'm assuming? But I mean, even if Sting had a huge ego, why would Stewart even care? All he had to do was play the drums :dunno:

Here's an interesting summary interview/article from just before their recent-ish tour: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/3666 ... -beat.html Seems most things have been patched up!

The Police were ok. With a rock trio, the singer ends up the focal point.

I had the odd Police album, the first one was good. About the same as my interest in Cheap Trick who were essentially in Madison most weekends as Rockford had no clubs. Garbage was alao a Madison band, but the chick singer did not get recruited till I had left.
