Or instead of one AR-15 with a single 100 round drum, they could carry 10 AR-15s with 10 round magazines.

Here we go again:
And again:A shooting on a Texas community college campus has wounded three people and sent students fleeing for safety as officials placed the campus on lockdown.
Harris County Sheriff’s Major Armando Tello said authorities had detained a person of interest. He did not provide any details about the people who were wounded, such as whether they were students or included the person who was arrested.
‘‘The situation is under control,’’ Lone Star College director Jed Young told CNN.
‘‘At first glance it appears to be (a dispute) between two people,’’ he said, adding that ‘‘there were two students we believe were shot in the crossfire’’.
Police are searching for a second shooter, but he is not believed to be on campus anymore, Young said.
The evacuation of the sprawling campus is nonetheless continuing as a precautionary measure, he said.

Television footage showed people lying on the ground and at least one person being loaded into an ambulance on the campus of Lone Star College near Houston.
Witnesses reported that a male was brought out of the library handcuffed to a stretcher, according to KHOU news.
The school’s official Twitter feed said the shooting was between two people and that the situation was under control. It had issued an alert on its website earlier, telling students and faculty to take immediate shelter or avoid the campus.
Efren Huerta replied to the post with the comment: ‘‘i was walking to my next class. and i heard about 4-6 shots. it happened in the library i think! i just took off running like never before.’’
Dozens more offered prayers to the victims and expressed dismay with comments like ‘‘this is crazy!’’ and ‘‘this is sick!’’
Aerial footage from local television stations showed police cars and ambulances parked on the Lone Star College campus about 32 kilometres north of downtown Houston. Emergency personnel could be seen tending to people on stretchers, while others ran from a building led by officers.
Mark Smith, spokesman for the Harris County Emergency Corps, said four people were taken to two hospitals. He said at least two had gunshot wounds, and one appeared to have had a heart attack related to the shooting.
He said one was in a critical condition.

A teenage boy has been arrested and charged with the murder of five people, including three children, in the southwestern US state of New Mexico, police say.
Police said in a statement they found the bodies of an adult male and female and two girls and a boy described as "juveniles", all dead from multiple gunshot wounds, when they arrived at an Albuquerque home late Saturday.
Aaron Williamson, a spokesman for the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office, said "multiple" weapons were found at the scene, including a "military-type assault rifle", adding that the investigation was still under way.

Teen held in double-slaying charged as adult

A Colorado Springs teenager held in the slayings of a decorated Fort Carson soldier and his pregnant wife has been charged as an adult.
Prosecutors on Wednesday filed 23 counts against 17-year-old Macyo January, including first-degree murder, first-degree burglary and theft and aggravated motor vehicle theft.
January was arrested by Colorado Springs police Jan. 14, four days after authorities say Staff Sgt. David Dunlap and his wife, Whitney Butler, were fatally shot to death upon surprising a burglar in their home.
Arrest papers have been sealed, and police and prosecutors have yet to provide an account of what they believe happened inside the home, including details about how and where the juvenile obtained a gun.
Dunlap, a helicopter mechanic, had transferred to Fort Carson only weeks before his death, Army officials said.
January was charged Wednesday afternoon during a brief hearing before El Paso County Magistrate Jeffrey O. Saufley.
The remaining charges include sentence enhancers that carry the potential to double penalties against him.
January was held at Spring Creek Youth Services Center in Colorado Springs without bail pending his Jan. 30 return to court, Saufley ordered.
Saufley denied a request by prosecutors to have the teenager transferred to El Paso County jail to be housed with adults, saying they could press their arguments before 4th Judicial District Judge Sandra Grohs, who will preside over the homicide case. Juveniles convicted of murder in Colorado face a life sentence with the possibility of parole after 40 years.
If convicted in both murders, state law dictates that January’s life sentences would run consecutively, meaning he would serve at least 40 years on the first sentence before his other life sentence begins, said El Paso County Chief Deputy District Attorney Jeffrey Lindsey, the lead prosecutor in the case.

No Shots Fired: Home Intruders Decide Not to Stick Around After Seeing Their ‘Victim’ Holding an AR-15
Jan. 24, 2013 7:00pm Jason Howerton
Two home intruders, one holding a handgun, broke into a New York apartment on Tuesday and waited at the bottom of the stairs for a potential “victim” to come down. While their intentions are unknown, it is clear they were criminals up to no good.
After hearing some noise coming from the basement, Christopher Boise, a student at Rochester Institute of Technology, went to check it out.
“They were waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs,” Boise told WHAM-TV. When they saw him, the man with the gun pointed the barrel towards him.
Relying on pure instinct, Boise let out a blood-curdling scream in order to alert his roommate, Raymond, who is also a RIT student.
“It wasn’t like a, ‘I stepped by stepped on a piece of glass’ kind of scream,” Raymond said. “So, I instinctively went to my gun bag.”
In that bag was a AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, one of the very guns at the center of the current gun control debate.

About five seconds after he retrieved his gun, one of the intruders began opening the door to the room where he was waiting. But he was ready.
“By the time I had it out and ready, one of the men came at my door, slowly opened it, saw that there was a barrel on the other side and from there backed out,” Raymond recalled.
After seeing the barrel of an AR-15 staring them in the face, the two men fled from the apartment. No shots were fired and no one was injured. In fact, the rifle wasn’t even loaded at the time of the incident, Raymond said.
It’s not the kind of story that always makes national headlines as bullets never went flying, but it certainly shows why so many Americans are adamant about protecting the Second Amendment as it is written in the U.S. Constitution. It also shows that, in some cases, a gun doesn’t even have to be used in order for it to protect its owner and others.
Watch WHAM-TV’s report below:
“I’m happy he saved my life. I was very thankful he had his (gun),” Boise said of his roommate.
Rochester Police Chief James Sheppard said Raymond’s gun was legal and effectively protected his property.
“We’re thankful that no one was injured,” he said.
Police reportedly found BB rounds near a broken glass window. It’s unclear if the handgun used in the home invasion was a BB gun.

Hmm , burgular with a firearm (who will only have one because they are easily avaliable) appears and instead of ringing the police and then doing exactly what the burgular tells you the person draws a gun and risks a gunfight in a house
Interesting concept of risk analysis there.
You know most people grow out of wanting to be a hero by the time they stop being a teenager and they realise being a hero is extremely shit. I guess some people never grow up

Yeah, I guess that's why the only hero movies that make profits are those made for children. And I'm sure there are no cops, firefighters, soldiers, doctors, nurses, paramedics, ambulance crew etc etc etc etc etc etc or just regular compassionate people who would like to do a heroic deed.MrJonno wrote:Hmm , burgular with a firearm (who will only have one because they are easily avaliable) appears and instead of ringing the police and then doing exactly what the burgular tells you the person draws a gun and risks a gunfight in a house
