..several mishaps including fuel leaks and an electrical fire... We want to see the entire picture and not focus on individual events... The latest incident involving the 787 occurred overnight when a 3-foot-long crack appeared in the cockpit window of an All Nippon Airlines 787 flying in Japan... another Dreamliner's electrical power system caught fire earlier this week at the gate at Boston's Logan airport on a Japan Airlines flight... We will support Boeing... The 787 is the first entirely new plane built in the United States in 15 years... Boeing says... it is 100 percent "safe to fly".

This is not going to be over real soon. Hope the plane body will hold up.

Electrical fires.. fuel leaks.. these are potentially catastrophic failures. It's time to leave the aeronautics game to the professionals: Airbus. :hehe:

lol yeah sure. It's design flaws. Major ones. Boeing has been cutting corners for years in their manufacturing process, which doesn't help. These kinds of failures should have been found out in years of testing. Another thing Boeing is cutting corners on.

They'll sort it. All new aircraft have issues. I look at them like cars - never buy a new model, let some other sucker find the bugs. In the meantime, don't fly on one. I fucking hate flying anyway, it's a good excuse to avoid long-haul runs.

I wouldn't. These are just the reported incidents.

Oh, and a fire where the lithium batteries burn for 40 minutes before firefighters could put them out is hardly a 'teething pain'. Also a 3 foot crack in one of the cockpit viewports that could have caused explosive decompression is hardly a 'teething pain'.

Have all the pilots carry duct tape for cracks on the windshield.

Either of two things...
a) this is sabotage plain and simple, maybe by Airbus

b) All of the Boeing personnel involved in designing, making and selling that plane need to be cast in a dungeon and the key melted in the hole, you don't commercialize a plane that still has flaws that big.

Let the free-market work it out. Relatives of the dead can sue Boeing. No more crashes after that.

There's not been a major air disaster recently. About that time I guess? :coffee:
