Zilla, I know you're having fun, but this thread has jumped 10 pages since yesterday, mostly filled with bickering and a complete lack of history. If this series is shit can you recommend something better? I know obviously the best way to learn is spending years studying, but I'm just not going to spend my time on that - it doesn't interest me enough. But I am just about prepared to spend a little time watching a few documentary series' and absorb some information while I eat my dinner - if you can suggest something that is accurate and reliable.

Zilla did suggest wiki would give you a better return on your time.
My suggestion would be ANYTHING other than Oliver Stone. Stuff done by historians perhaps?

Professional historians have a reputation to protect. If they write rubbish, or even a poor assessment, that reputation is in tatters.
Oliver Stone can write what he likes. And does. No comeback whatsoever.

for the nth time it WAS done by a historian. What is your malfunction? Stone is the producer. Anything on the BBC will be done by a producer. Anything on wiki will be managed by the equivalent of a producer. Yes, we get that you didn't like JFK. There's more to the world than bleeding JFK.

I watched three episodes. I liked them What's inaccurate about them

Aside from that, I was disappointed that the series starts with WWII. Why is that There's lots of U.S. history before that

And what does that have to do with it being a history documentary (which is what you've been dissing all along in the thread)? Stone was the PRODUCER, not the historian. You may as well said he was an amateur proctologist for all it had anything to do with supporting your "argument". You clearly said that to dismiss the history documentary, not Stone himself. Otherwise, why would you say it?
