Never mind, Gallstones, at least you have the comfort of knowing yet more people didn't didn't die in vain but smiled at the thought they were dying for the 2nd Amendment. You can continue to have masturbatory fantasies with your guns. Heaven forfend that you should be denied the pleasure of maintaing a gun culture which includes you stroking the barrel of your powerful. Why it's almost as if you liked being a monster.
If there is a monster here it would be the drunkard posting above, and I'm sober.

How is your response in anyway related to what she wrote? Completely uncalled for and irrelevant.

Armed volunteers in the schools? Fucking metal detectors and bullet proof entryways? Your country is fucking insane if this becomes necessary. Yes. Start grade school kids on gun handling on grade two. Teach them to shoot and not flinch. I recommend building a wall around the USA, not to keep illegals out but to keep the gun nuts in. I mean, Seth couldn't cross the Canadian border because he wasn't allowed to bring his gun! It wouldn't have been safe for him.
I have rifles because I used to hunt. Hand guns are used to kill people, period. They are only incidental in hunting, only an idiot would go hunting with a pistol alone. Target shooting with a pistol is only practice for shooting people, nothing else. Most targets are people shaped. If things are actually so bad that you cannot bear to go out without a handgun for the fear that someone will blow you away, you have fucked up your country beyond repair. I recommend militias and armed patrols, mine the roads and build bomb shelters.
Guns are not the problem, though. Easy access to them is. If any fucking psycho can have a Glock with no questions asked, expect more of this. Easy targets are abundant even with a lot of people armed; schools, hospitals, old folks' homes, restaurants, movie theaters. I pity you people because it seems to be getting more and more dangerous to live in the States each day, and it's not the guns. It's the people. And nobody knows a solution.

Here's a way to tell which side (pro-gun control/anti-gun control) is more reasonable and civilized: when incidents like this happen, which side takes up the offense, getting angry about something needing to be done, and which side takes up the defense, getting angry at the idea of altering the status quo? Everybody's angry, but there is an offense and a defense.

Yes, I am in fact saying that people who think we've already got too many regulations and restrictions on guns are less civilized than the rest of us. That's the way it is.

There have been metal detectors and armed police patrols in high schools since I was in high school. And that was a long time ago.

No armed cops or metal detectors at my high school (96-2000) or at the high school my daughter will go to.

My high school didn't have a permanent cop station, but one down town did. 2 cops on stand-by all day. There was a lot of violent fights there often involving knives. At least one kid was killed that I know of.

We had unarmed security guards. A couple roaming the halls and hanging out by the main entrance.

If you choose to impugn your integrity by being biased and unfair, that's your lookout, not mine, and I will have no compunctions about pointing it out. I certainly hope you will sanction Rum (and aspire1670) as harshly as I was sanctioned since they began the insults without any provocation from me at all. That would restore my confidence in the honesty, probity and integrity of you as a Moderator.
I'm not interested in your opinion, nor I am I swayed in the least by your posturing. Like the rest of the staff, I intend to carry out my responsibilities correctly based on the facts, even in the face of threats to break the rules from you.
Who gives a fuck about your snooty attitude. I twitted you because it was reasonable to do so, and you proved that you're no better than anyone else who is handed power, which we all know corrupts. But at least you gave him a warning, and that's something. Still, if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

No. He evidently stole one from his mother as well as a SIG and a Glock handgun, but he left the rifle in his vehicle and did not take it in to the school, probably because it WAS NOT concealable and he felt he couldn't get past the foyer if he had it with him. The pistols he was able to conceal, but that begs the question of why the office staff buzzed in someone wearing a "military" uniform and a ballistic vest.
I know your life has been ful of fail. Seth: you failed in your brief stints as a cop and as a police despatcher; you failed as a rancher and generally you life has not amounted to a row of beans; but even you must have read that the assailant forced his way into the school. Nice attempt at victim blaming though.
I'll wait for your suspension too before I reply as I ought to your false allegations and calumnies.

And no, I had not seen that in the coverage so far. But that begs the question of how he could "force his way" into the school. This indicates a gross and incompetent failure on the part of the staff, administration and school board in not providing proper security infrastructure in the school.
I've a question for you Seth: How did he manage to get hold of his mother's firearms so that he could kill her? And perhaps more to the point, what lessons should we take from that?
Evidently he stole them and then murdered her. Beyond that, information has not been released. Who knows, maybe he tied her up and threatened to cut her tits off with a kitchen knife till she gave him the key to the gun locker.

And the best lesson you can take is that there is no way to predict who is going to go off the rails, and there is no practical way to prevent them from finding lethal weapons, from guns and knives to automobiles, fertilizer and diesel fuel, and pesticide sprayers filled with gasoline and a match (which was used in Denver yesterday to try to murder 4 people) and so the ONLY sane response is for each and every individual to personally assess their threat level and decide for themselves how they will or will not arm themselves to be able to respond to a deadly attack.

But when it comes to schools, the faculty and staff have a legal duty to keep the kids safe when they are in their custody, and if that means armed teachers and staff, bulletproof sally ports, containment barriers and armed citizens walking the halls and grounds of if it National Guard troops, tanks, barbed wire and sandbagged machine gun positions outside the school, then by God that's what it takes and they had fucking well better get with the program right fucking now.

Any asshole who objects to having law-abiding armed citizens, or police, or troops or whatever else it takes to keep kids safe in schools can go fuck themselves with a barbed-wire dildo, eat shit and die. Any asshole who dances on the graves of those kids to forward a disarmament agenda of gun control needs to be horsewhipped, tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail, after being fucked up the ass with a barbed wire dildo.

I don't care what you think about guns or gun owners, I will do ANYTHING I can to protect kids, including giving my own life to do so, even if it means teachers in body armor carrying shotguns in class. If you would do any less, you're a fucking worthless coward who is undeserving of respect or recognition.
