I got stuck on Primal, so I started in on GTA III. Holy fuck this game is just as awesome as I remember. Only some bits are really hard and I get frustrated easily :lay: Like for instance, I'm doing a Rampage, because the Rampage side missions are fun, right? You just grab a weapon and kill people. Only problem is, the people fight back. And this one that I tried doing, you blow up cars with a grenade launcher :awesome: But the pedestrians, the bystanders, WHO IT SHOULD BE NONE OF THEIR GODDAMN BUSINESS, but the bystanders apparently can't be doing with me blowing up vehicles, so they come over and attack me while I'm trying to blow up vehicles :ddpan: And I die :ddpan:

I spent hours and hours playing GTA III and then the game froze and I lost all my progress :ddpan:

Aside from that, though, this has to be one of the greatest games ever made, if not the greatest.

If you like Final Fantasy you'll like this.

I played the demo. I don't like Final Fantasy so I'll be skipping this one.

I got Batman Arkham City for one of my nephews for Christmas. It's what he said he wanted. I'd never heard of this game but it apparently got glowing critical reviews, a lot of 10 out of 10s, even. Not really a big Batman fan but I may have to check it out :ask:

I'm not a Final Fantasy fan per se, but I do like the newer FF games. I absolutely despised the few older FF games I tried. So it's kinda hit or miss with me I guess. I do like the animation style of this game Squid posted. I'm just not sold on the gameplay. If it's not too expensive, I'll check it out, though. I'm perfectly willing to give a new game a chance. If I don't end up liking it, amazon always buys back for a good price.

Long time no comment (busy with work and now mostly video games on my break). Playing (off and on) Mass Effect for the PS3, Far Cry 3, and a lot of Black Ops 2 and now back to Battlefield 3 (double xp for premium members this week 1-6 Jan). I have rented a server for the month with my name in the South US region. Any PS3 players want to set up some private time to train or learn to fly (like I did), let me know (prob through PS3 is best) and I'll set it up.

end shameless promotion.

I finally started Mass Effect 3 last night. It's more than a little underwhelming compared to the previous two installments. :?

Keep with it Pord, it gets much better then sucks again at the end. (Though my reasoning is different to the entitled gamers bitching).

I just finished Arkham city, which was a fun 20 hours. I've been playing a bit of Far Cry 3. I loved Far Cry Two, even though a lot of people hated it, this though, this is slightly less realistic but all the more fun for it.

It has almost nothing but great reviews.

Chivalry: Medieval Warfare - free to play this weekend on Steam. Quite fun but still feels like a clunky convert from an FPS game. And the melee fighting, while reasonably in-depth, doesn't feel as natural as Mount and Blade did. Also, other than the sometimes frustrating re-spawn times, there's not much incentive to stay alive (nor any easy way to do so given the pace of play in a fight against more than one person) so it kind of becomes charge in, flail around until you die, and repeat.
[Disclaimer - if this is comes across like I think I know what I'm talking about, I want to make it clear that I don't. I'm just trying to get my thoughts down]

Yeah I finished it. It was pretty close to how to you described it. My main gripe is the character interactions seem very shallow compared to ME2.. and the most action I got was a deep kiss with Jack (we had sex in ME2).. with my helmet on!

I like how biotics are more powerful in it though; recharge time is cut by 75% if you just carry a pistol from what it was in ME2.

I've been playing Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath on my PS3. It's kinda short, and a little repetitive, but still a blast, mostly because of the hilarious dialogue
Has anybody played it? I'm wondering what happens, if anything, if I get the twenty grand before I see the doc for my "operation." On my first play-through I spent money like crazy, figuring I'd get plenty of moolah along the way. But then something quite unexpected happened toward the end. On my second play-through, I very nearly had enough but then I squandered some on upgrades. I want to play a third time and spend zero money. It does seem within the realm of possibility to get the twenty grand :ask:

Nothing happens if you get the twenty grand. Just a useless trophy. But no operation :ddpan:

I started in on Batman: Arkham Asylum. I meant to get Arkham City, but I got this by mistake. The graphics in this game are stunning. Batman himself looks very cool, and there's great cinematics when you beat the shit out of enemies. Lots of nice little touches. The way Batman's cape flutters in the breeze, for instance, almost brings me to orgasm.
So far the gameplay is kinda boring, though. And some of the voice acting and dialogue grates on my nerves.

Sælir woke me up with a shiny new PS3 on Saturday. She is an awesome wifey. I am currently playing Uncharted 3, assassin's creed 3 and LA noire.
Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.
