Why isn't Canada more like the USA?

Size wise about the same, my guess is overall pretty much the same natural resources. Admittedly lots covered in Ice and snow, but that doesn't see to bother much of the Country (people and business/industry) and historically that may have been a good reason for not populating the whole country - but not anymore (I assume they have electrickery).

Why not use the rest of the place by bringing in a 100 million immigrants? - just seems inefficient to waste all that space.

Get a big population and you could even expand south...... :hehe:

One problem Canada has is that about 30% of it is underwater.

Because Canada has roots with the effete French while the USA has its roots in the dastardly, cruel English.

Fresh water (a very valuable commodity), 4th largest oil reserves in teh world (valuable I guess), large deposits of precious minerals (meh), vast forests for softwood harvesting (garbage), the sexiest women anywhere ( :naughty: ), and the best weed in the world ( :pot:). Just to name a few reasons.

Oh, and Canada doesn't suck.
