It's a form of recycling, innit? Molecules. But you are all looking at stuff from the wrong scale. Things get bigger, they have less meaning. Meaning is in the molecules:

So what happens to my molecules and other "stuff" after me is dead?

Well, what happens to the molecules after you die is not a mystery. Like when your skin flakes off, or you spit on the ground - biological and chemical activity takes place and the molecules are eaten by other organisms and they combine in chemical reactions with other molecules. So, the molecules of water go elsewhere and may combine with other molecules, or pool and mix with other molecules, etc. The molecules of carbohydrates and lipids may be consumed by other organisms, and/or otherwise are broken down into the smaller molecules/atoms of combinations or individual hydrogen, oxygen, carbon atoms. Carbohydrates and lipids are made up of hydrogen, oxygen and carbon. The same thing occurs with respect to proteins, and they break down into hydrogen, oxygen, carbon, nitrogen and sulfur atoms, or combinations thereof. The inorganic elements in the body, stuff like iron, calcium, etc., they can also be consumed by other organisms, or just fall to the ground and sit there, or later combine with other elements.

So, when you die all that happens to all the molecules and atoms in your body.

Nothing is created or destroyed. The molecules and atoms just move around to other places and react with other molecules and atoms.

Look at it this way -- most of the atoms that are in your body now were not part of your body 20 years ago, and most of the atoms that were in your body 20 years ago are now not part of your body.

it is sort of weird to contemplate a continuity of "you" when all the atoms that made up "you" in the past are now somewhere else - in worms, laying on the ground, being crapped out of a bird somewhere, etc., isn't it?

But it's kinda cool that I won't actually "die".
