Figured it out. There's a button labeled 'Fn' for Function I guess. Fn + Insert/PrtScr does the capture, then Ctrl + V in Paint does the paste.

Free programs like Irfan View have very good screen/window capture facilities. And once you capture something, you just crop it very easily.

I've always used this and it still works for me in Windows 7. The ability to accurately capture just the active window with a simple key command is very useful - and if you need to do any further cropping, paint is good for that.Cormac wrote:Alt & Printscr

This pops the image onto the paint screen, ready for you to manipulate.

What do we care about snipping and resolution? Just paste whole screen to eg Irfanview (free), then ypu can cut and snip all you like.
