Re: 2012 US Election -- Round 2
As far as the polls go, it's folly to pick the polls that tell you what you want and ignore those that don't. That's why composites and longer-term trends are more informative and less biased.
If you don't like being called "stupid", then stop saying stupid things.

Re: 2012 US Election -- Round 2
Too easy. It only took 10 seconds to come up with this example:Gerald McGrew wrote:Can you show me where Democrats are saying that Romney has a secret plan to destroy the country so that the communists or Muslims can take over? Or that he's not really an American and actually hates America?Coito ergo sum wrote:That isn't surprising. It's the same shit you hear from Democrats when talking about a Republican candidate. Only the response from Democrats here will be "well, Republicans really do want people to die, and they really can't speak English, and they really do want people to be poor..." etc...

She was a delegate to the convention and the Democrats made no attempt to keep her out.And after that, can you show how those same people have the equivalent influence over the DNC as the Tea Party has over the GOP?

Coito ergo sum wrote:MassGAP applauded Romney in 2006 for increasing female appointments to state government. “I think he put more terrific women into high-level jobs because of our project,” -Liz Levin, Chairwoman, MassGAP.
You know, the complaint from Wumbologist and others was that these binders were created in the first place. How dare he have binders of "women" as if it's so hard to go out and find qualified women.... right? But, then the other bitch about it is that he didn't really go out looking for women, this was prepared by the outside organization that presented it to him and would have presented it to any governor.
So, which is it? Are the binders in principle good or bad? If they are good, do they become bad because Romney was governor? What is the deal?
If they are bad, then is Liz Levin, Chairwoman of MassGAP doing something bad by preparing them and presenting them to the governor?

Just reading some stuff about employers being allowed to "persuade" their employees who to vote for. Seems a bit rum

Well, we have freedom of speech in the US, so people can always say who they think others should vote for, including managers and owners of businesses. The thing is, we do have a secret ballot here in the U.S., so they can't make you vote for anyone.Clinton Huxley wrote:Just reading some stuff about employers being allowed to "persuade" their employees who to vote for. Also, it has nothing at all to do with the Citizens United ruling. Even if Citizens United came out exactly the opposite way than it did, business leaders would still be legally allowed to voice an opinion.
