If that meant Biden or someone like him was going to be secretary of state, no thanks. I'm happier with Biden being confined to a ceremonial position where he can't do much damage.
I wondered why Obama didn't pick Hillary. I guess it was personal, and he just really loathes her, because the Veep position is one where the Veep only has the power that the Prez gives him or her, but an Obama/Clinton ticket in 2008, I think, would have won by an absolute landslide and a Clinton v Palin fem-a-fem battle would have left Palin a huddled, quivering mass as Clinton would have eaten her for breakfast (no euphemism intended).
She probably would have refused.

Biden complained in October, 2008 debate that people could barely afford to fill their gas tanks: http://cnsnews.com/blog/craig-bannister ... -08-debate In October, 2008, gas prices were around $1.99 or so. When Obama took office in January, 2009, the price was about $1.84 per gallon for regular gasoline. It is now around $3.80 give or take, nationally - -it's about $3.63 at Sam's Club here in Florida. Double.

She didn't need the VP to solidify her as a serious politician. It would have tied her to Obama's presidency and policies in a much more direct way. She would have had less freedom regarding her own positions (without 'betraying' the party) and less power (in a mostly ceremonial position). If I were in her position in 2008, I wouldn't have wanted to be his running mate.

Says the President hasn't created a single job. Liar.
Welfare waivers do water down the work requirements -- http://www.manhattan-institute.org/html ... HWruxXNaSp
The same "Obama gutted the welfare to work requirements" claim that has been debunked a million ways to Sunday. Liars.
Jack Welch --- jobs report, my ass! http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000087 ... on_LEADTop
"The books are being cooked....but I have no actual evidence of that at all." Liars.
Focusing on the real issues important to Americans, Obama rally features Sesame Street song.... http://politicker.com/2012/10/ohio-obam ... heme-song/
So Romney says at the debate, "I'm going to cut funding to Big Bird" as an example of how he plans to tackle the deficit, and they can't figure out why the Obama campaign is using it? Dumb asses.
Biden complained in October, 2008 debate that people could barely afford to fill their gas tanks: http://cnsnews.com/blog/craig-bannister ... -08-debate In October, 2008, gas prices were around $1.99 or so. Double.
Was Biden complaining about the cost of gas, or the fact that this "Joe" didn't have enough expendable income? Liars.

And there's the problem. I've been all over, looking for informed, honest conservatives to debate and discuss issues with, and they just don't seem to be out there. The conservative media sources and "think tanks" are so out of touch with reality on so many subjects, I honestly don't think they even know the difference between a lie and the truth. IMO, Romney reflected this problem in last week's debate. One lie after another. Obama could have been much more assertive and passionate about his own positions, but had he gone down the path of pointing out Romney's lies, distortions, and flip-flops, he would have done nothing else the entire night.

It's the same reason why creationists regularly beat scientists in oral debates. When one side has no problem lying ad infinitum, it's very difficult to overcome.

I find it amazing that Grover is such a rare name, especially since we had a President Grover Cleveland :thinks:

But yeah, that is why you fire editorial staff for printing ridiculous biased pictures of Romney.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

538 still shows Obama leading, but the gap narrowing --- it's pretty close at the moment --- http://elections.nytimes.com/2012/electoral-map

They have Florida as a toss up, but today's polling in a broad Times, Bay News 9, Herald poll shows Romney winning Florida handllyL: http://www.tampabay.com/news/politics/n ... 44/1255882 And, that is a poll of "likely voters."

Ohio still looks like a toss-up in polling: http://elections.huffingtonpost.com/pol ... y-vs-obama but, leaning Obama.

Romney gaining: http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/pol ... la-ohio-va

I think it's because no one wants their kid named after a Sesame Street character. You sure don't see any Elmos either.
