Welcome RPizzle!
Re: Welcome RPizzle!
Central PA Dialect
We will switch our ile to owl (like the bird) sounds. Actually, this isn't a switch for the locals, its what is used and understood. (This makes us sound Southern)
So a shopping aisle will be an owl.
A mile of distance with be a mowl.
A pile of leaves will be pronounced as a pow.
About is used when very should be used.
You are about dumb = You are very dumb.
About half is used for added emphasis.
You are about half dumb = You are really, really, dumb.
Instead of washing things you 'warsh' them...though this is a dying term, similar to 'redd up' (clean) your room.
Anyway...there is a short and sweet primer of PA linguistics...I figure Wikipedia would have something more indepth if for some unnatural reason anyone cares.

Our local dialect is terrible though, very hick sounding. I try my best to suppress it.
Trust me...I want out of here as fast as humanly possible.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

Re: Welcome RPizzle!
Hello, RPizzle. You might remember me from RD.net as Rhymeswithpurple. Anyway, I'm the forum's resident Furry, and a narcissistic egomaniacal eccentric genius. So, the questions:
1) What do you think of Furries?
1) a] Do you think we bite?
1) b] Would you like it if we did bite?
2) What classic and bestseller fiction and non-fiction books have you read? A rough list is fine.
3) What would you recommend for a good fur shampoo?
4) Have you ever been outside the US?
5) Can you provide any links to Yiffy art?
6) Do you think the world's fucked?
7) Do you know where I could find a friendly badger?
8) I might get guff for this, but what are your Horoscope and Chinese signs?

Re: Welcome RPizzle!
Yay! More questions. I am really enjoying addressing all these posts without the standard issue wall of text!
1) What do you think of Furries?
I really have no opinion, mostly based on a complete and utter lack of understanding of Furries in general. My entire breadth of knowledge on the subject is limited to Wikipedia, as I personally don't know anyone who is a Furry. The most I can say with any force is that I find much of the Furry artwork enjoyable and oddly fascinating. Because I don't really understand it, I'm rather curious about it.
1) a] Do you think we bite?
Probably.
1) b] Would you like it if we did bite?
Also, probably.
2) What classic and bestseller fiction and non-fiction books have you read? A rough list is fine.
1984 (my favorite book), Brave New World, Great Expectations, East of Eden, Grapes of Wrath, the works of Homer, Shakespeare etc. The last book I read was Ender's Game. The next book I'll read will be the beginning of the Sword of Truth series, at a friend's request. I tend to read non-traditional books based on various settings, e.g. I tend to enjoy many of the books set in the Warhammer 40k universe. I'm also an anime/manga nerd, so I'll often be flipping through those online. My favorite themes tend to be dark fantasy or dystopian sci-fi. I know, all warm and fuzzy.
3) What would you recommend for a good fur shampoo?
My shampoo preference would have to be Nexus. I figure if it works for your scalp...it will work for fur.
4) Have you ever been outside the US?
I have only been to, what our locals affectionately refer to as 'America's hat'. Outside of that, I've pretty much been in Pennsylvania for my entire life. I have a very strong yearning to travel and experience the world, however. I'm hopeful to study abroad, in Japan or England if possible, even if it means extending my undergraduate studies an extra year. I may also go to medical school abroad, but that is still a few years away.
5) Can you provide any links to Yiffy art?
I understand the word Yiff. Is Yiffy art the one with...things...doing things....to things....with things...? I've said enough.
6) Do you think the world's fucked?
The world...the world is going to be fine. Humans on the other hand...not so much.
7) Do you know where I could find a friendly badger?
I have no idea what you are talking about. All of I can think of now is that Badger, Badger, Badger song...Mushroom...Mushroom.
8) I might get guff for this, but what are your Horoscope and Chinese signs?
By Astrology I am a Capricorn (Sun), Gemini (Moon), Scorpio (Rising). My Chinese sign as far as I know is the Ox. Also, my Wiccan friend says that my element is strongly Earth. I've read about these things, though I don't follow it personally. However, I do find them to be generally dead on.
If you like personality predictors, you should try the free test on Humanmetrics. It was extremely accurate in my case (taking it for an Organizational Psychology class), and I believe there is actual scientific basis on it. That would be the 'INTJ' thing I listed in my original post.
Alright! Keep them coming.

Welcome RPizzle
I see you like being grilled like a Philly Cheesesteak*... I'll do my best:
1) How far do you live from Scranton?
2) How would you describe Baltimore?
3) The liberty bell is English, and the Statue of Liberty is French. Is this relevant?
4) Do you live in the real America? If so is it any good? Better than the fake America I presume?
* Attempt at sounding like a yokel, I mean local.
