O'Connor, who last year changed her legal name to Magda Davitt, said she had ditched the Catholic Church for good in a message to fans on Twitter.

Actually, it has improved a lot in the last 40 years (as it correspondingly lost power and influence)... looks like somebody is still dealing with a childhood trauma, and not dealing with it well nor properly.
