Wasn't Bryan Cranston a revelation? He was on the periphery of a grand career for years until Malcolm, who knew?

Hmm. Well, the badass factor is attractive. But would I really want to be compared to WW? Ahhhh, no.
I think that language has a lot to do with interfering in our relationship to direct experience. A simple thing like metaphor will allows you to go to a place and say 'this is like that'. Well, this isn't like that. This is like this.

Giancarlo Esposito was strangely attractive in the show...
(not to mention amazingly young-looking!)

Yeah, I thought that too. Part of the attractiveness I think was that imperturbable quality. Evidently he started practicing yoga (during season 3, I think), in order to be able to maintain that in the midst of the increasing intensity of his character's actionsBella Fortuna wrote:Giancarlo Esposito was strangely attractive in the show...(not to mention amazingly young-looking!)

Yes, that clean-cut, precise, mild-mannered exterior with an unbendable strength and will underneath. Something fascinating about that. The killing stuff.... a bit too far, though.orpheus wrote:Yeah, I thought that too. Part of the attractiveness I think was that imperturbable quality. I do have to add that just as a guy he's a zillion times sexier at 54 than he ever was when he was younger, when he looked kinda dorky.

Fantasticseries; watched them all in a couple of weeks when I had the blues. Wat ching the Fringe right now; cheesy but entertaining. Might have to hold off BB until my studies are underway!Seabass wrote:Did you ever watch The Wire? It's up there with Game of Thrones, in my opinion. I was hoping for something to keep me going 'til Game of Thrones returned. I guess I was wrong to let GoT raise my hopes for TV in general. It still sucks

I've been wondering what all the fuss is about, but have not found it available on the usual TV stations here. Have downloaded the first series from an..er..alternative source. Is it worth persevering and watching it all from the beginning?

Re: Breaking Bad the other night.
Yes, but more than any show before it it is like a serialisation of a novel, though still remaining episodic. I picked up the boxed set of seasons 1-3 for £12.99 and season 4 for a $5 from HMV a couple of weeks back. It does start off slow so be warned but it is still one of the most compelling shows I've ever seen. Comedic, gripping and sometimes just downright horrifying, I can't recommend it highly enough.Rum wrote:I've been wondering what all the fuss is about, but have not found it available on the usual TV stations here. One more week then it's gone.
Damn.

I'm really looking forward to the last episode. It is guaranteed to be a hell of a lot better than Dexter's

Re: Breaking Bad the other night.
I'm just starting series six of Dexter (I'm avoiding the other thread) but I must admit, considering some of the plot lines I've overlooked to get this far, I've never had high hopes for how they might end it. Breaking Bad on the whole has been much better.rachelbean wrote:I'm really looking forward to the last episode. It is guaranteed to be a hell of a lot better than Dexter's
