How on earth do you tell? I've never been able.

I simply can't see that say the Mormon or Scientology teachings are any loopier than those of any of the Abrahamic religions

Is it just me,or do others think some Christians seem to have well developed sense of Schadenfreude?

Probably lying; a real rumal-wielding thuggee would never tell an outsider. Besides, I was under the impression the British wiped them out in the 1830's. I guess there could still be small bands operating in remote areas.

This guy was into some strange shit, and thuggee was just one of them. He made Aleister Crowley look like a soccer mom. They took him away when he was found sacrificing live animal on his front lawn, naked except for a coat of blue paint.

He was the former. The contents of his apartment could have made a nice mini-series if they knew the full history of each item. He had a human skeleton, but one side was male and the other females. The weird part was the pelvis was the tipoff, the rest of it matched up beautifully. Several cases of Mason jars filled with liquid and containing things were removed at one point.

Actually it was in San Diego. Single family houses mixed with two-three story apartment buildings. No idea what sent him off that day.

Paganism is not a religion though is it? It's a catch all term for various local faiths, coined I believe as a pejorative term.

In early Christianity, it became a generic term for any non non Christian. Legal proscription of paganism with the death penalty began ca 350 CE.


Today,'pagan' is used by different groups. For some it's old earth-mother worship. I've also seen Wicca and modern Druidism referred to as 'pagan' as a purely descriptive term.


With sublime arrogance, many Christians still refer to just about any non Christian as 'pagan' ,'heathen'' or 'infidel' as pejorative terms. .
