Unless the muff-munching is a recent development, or was previously hidden? :dono:
I'd swear someone posted that preRaphaelite painting as a fave in some art thread back at TAF but I can't remember who, can't be arsed to look, and well... that might not even be a clue. Oooooooh this is just like Scooby Doo!
I don't remember where I got it. Might have been TAF.

I just love it.
"Her eye was on the sparrow. Her mind was on the dove,
But no one cared and no one dared to speak to her of love.
Her eyes are always hooded. Her claws are sharp as steel.
We teach her not to see too much. We teach her not to feel."

No we havent, and I wasn't planning to. We've had a few near misses and broken bones from these things so we rather test them inside arenas against other robots.

I am quite sure I know what these things do to flesh and bone.
You may be quite sure but I haven´t a bloody clue, as a rationaliast I demand gruesome and sanguine evidence prior to any exclamations of grooviness (in the Quentin Tarantino sense) I´ve seen these type of things in action on English telly without a choppupable body within a mile of the the things and whilst they may appear "freakin awesome" I´ve yet to see them do a job on a Fresian cow or a Potbelly pig, and at the end of the day that´s all we really want. Is that too much to ask? Oh there will be blood and if not there bloody well ought to be.
At least I'm housebroken.

They built a pair of sabertooth jaws and used it on a cow carcass. Pretty cool. I loved it, but the cow was mad.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

Could be. It was on a ranch. They had the jaws mounted on a BobCat, IIRC>

In the meantime, I think we're going to invite some friends along, like a private member's club or something.

If it ever gets popular, I'd like to transfer the running of the site, ownership of the domain name and responsibility for paying for the hosting to a body to represent the site.. a committee, syndicate, association, whatever.

...and so it came to pass.
