Nothing compared to the US stuff we get. In fact, you don't really see that much gun violence in local entertainment. Well, I should say popular culture-wise. Australian cinema has always had an edgy sector that often involves a lot of violence, but that's not mainstream.

One of the best violent movies of all time (Léon: The Professional) is an English-language French film.

There is at least one other major correlation with US gun crime. No-one has made it on this thread that I can see so far.

And the artefact correlating with high homicide rates has an extremely powerful influence.

Simply, I am asking some pointed questions about the extreme end of American gun culture, with its romantic adulation of the armed citizenry as the white nights opposing evil tyrants, and examining the connection between widespread hand-gun possession and murder rates...
