Are you sure I forgot?

Anyway, I'm not worried about that scenario, just home invasions/burglaries. If things go far enough south to be worried about somebody else having a HMMWV with a Ma Deuce (other than my friends who actually do have them) I'll be long gone from the house and in the bunker.

Good for you, that's better than nothing, which is what the Brits have. A few more minor tactical preparations would substantially improve your chances of actually getting to and being able to employ your Browning in the event of a home invasion/sneak-thief. You need to set up mechanisms of alert and delay to wake you up and slow down an intruder so you don't wake up facing your own pistol. Something as simple as a deadbolt on the bedroom door will go a long way towards improving your chances of survival.
Better than nothing? Better than NOTHING?! The single most elegant and classy gentleman's semi-automatic ever manufactured is not merely "better than nothing". :dq:

Ok... in fairness, the Sig P210 and Walther PPK are fair matches for classiness. :shifty:
How about the H&K P7?

Certainly nice, but not quite on the same level, IMO.

Oh please, H&K has been making the best firearms in the world since WWII. I've a P9S that fits my hand like a glove and shoots as accurately and reliably as any gun I've ever owned.

I carried the P7 PSP for years on duty, never had a single malfunction or jam ever.

Ever held a P7? Finest fit and finish going, and fully functional.

But with the same cold, utilitarian aesthetic that you can get out of a similarly reliable Glock for significantly less money. Obviously function is priority #1, but if you've got that down I see no reason to not take form into consideration.

Wumbo

You continue to blind yourself.

For a start. Correlations. I have said all along that you have to compare the USA with its peers. It is pointless comparing a rich, technologically advanced nation like the USA, with poor backward nations. That is definitely apples and oranges. Compare the US with its peers. other rich and advanced nations. Apples and oranges represents a logical fallacy.

Likewise, the old and very idiotic statement that guns do not kill people. People kill people. So what? Guns make it a lot easier.

In the history of my country, there are records of battles between tribes of our native people before and after they got guns. Before, they were restricted to various kinds of clubs, and the aftermath of the battle might include two or three deaths, and a bunch of very sore heads. After they got guns, the number of deaths rose to the hundreds.

Sure, people kill people. But equip them with hand guns, and the number killed goes up to 8,000 per year plus. And that is what you have done in America. In other countries, where the nasty buggers are restricted to knives, clubs, and chains, the death toll is a quarter per capita or less.
For every human action, there is a rationalisation and a reason. Only sometimes do they coincide.

Fine. Provided that for all purposes going forward, you will consider Mississippi, Alabama, West Virginia, and Texas all "peers of other rich and advanced nations..." :tut:

Coito

All rich and advanced nations have their depressed areas. Rich and advanced countries have rural slums and city gangs. You cannot pick out the depressed parts of the USA and say they are unique. They are not.

I pointed out a comparison with my country earlier. Where the USA has violent gangs made up of a lot of African Americans and Hispanics, here in NZ we have a lot of gangs made up of people of Polynesian descent. NZ has 30% ethnic (Maori and Pacific Islander mostly) composition, which I believe is higher than the US. Our gangs are very violent, and full of hate. Yet they kill very few people compared to American gangs. The reason is simple. No hand guns.
For every human action, there is a rationalisation and a reason. Only sometimes do they coincide.
