Canada is probably the third worst offender at getting silver and bronzes, right after Aussieland and Japan.

And to think, I was so ready to change my medal count method to the way the rest of the world does it (by counting only the gold medals) after Vancouver when the Canucks won the most gold. Now I'm reconsidering...we has 10 medals in London, so we're 11th in standing! :cheer:

Otherwise, we'd be 21st!

When it's all over, I'll post a "points" table, with 3 points for a gold, 2 for a silver, and one for a bronze. I will be surprise if Oz isn't right up there in terms of points per million population...

To be fair, there ought to be another measure: points per billion of GDP...

That would be interesting...

Points per billion of GDP invested in Olympic sport might be a better metric. In Canada we don't spend shit on our athletes.

Most total Olympic medals (summer and winter) -- United States. Also, most summer, and most winter, separately. The country with the second most total Olympic medals is the Soviet Union, and they haven't existed for a couple of decades. :tut:

Most Olympic gold medals -- United States.
Most Olympic silver medals -- United States.
Most Olympic bronze -- United States.

Most little cars driving around Mars.... United States. :smoke:
