Why should any laugh slander and libel off? It is time to make a stand. This is the ammunition needed. It should be used, and used for the good of all who have been maligned in this saga, including even you Rum.

I told a story a short while ago about a forum I used to moderate in which all the members were ostensibly friends, and in which we decided to experiment with an unmoderated area of the forum. It killed the forum completely.

Rude awakenings ahead, methinks. He's about to learn how rational his sycophants really are.

Especially in light of their web host stating:

re anarchy ... it seems to be going okay at MindRomp so far. A small quiet forum with a somewhat different history and contextual dynamic involved, though.

Given how much time I haven't devoted to any forums such as this in the past year or so, I can totally sympathise with PZ simply not wanting to deal with that kind of stuff anymore. Honestly I'm surprised he stuck it out that long. That being said simply dropping everything and not caring is not a great way to go about it. Plus he's still a poopy head for being a big mean generaliser-person.

It is a grey area whether he is legally responsible but it could well get the blog taken down if the views presented on his blog break his host's ToS and he does nothing about it. Especially now he has publicly stated that he doesnt give a fuck what they do there.

It's getting more bizarre by the day. According to Marinerachel we were "screeching that PZ’s account needs to be deleted because he wasn’t impressed by how the forum in general responded to “Would it be immoral to rape a Skepchick?”". What. The. Fuck. would that assertion be based on? All those invitations for P Z Myers to discuss the issue right here in this forum, which he declined by requesting that his account be deactivated? Nice one, Marinerachel. Looking forward to your return to planet earth one day.

The no-personal-attack rule is being discussed in that thread. A few posters fell afoul of it by making comments about Myers in various other threads about this stuff. There were a handful of calls that his account be deleted. They didn't get any traction, as far as I can tell.

I notice that Exi5entialist has posted the same complaint on Mindromp as he has posted on Ratskep. What he seeks to achieve by doing that is anybody’s guess.

What strikes me about Exi’s postings are that he appears to be wanting to strike at a moment that he imagines Rationalia to be down and out: Perhaps he was under the impression that he could deliver a killer blow to a forum whose very existence seems to bother him and replace the corpse with his own brand of forum Nirvana.

Unfortunately for him it appears that instead of dropping dead to order, on the contrary this forum is emerging stronger thanks to the hypocritical attentions of Associate Professor Myers and his travelling salvation show.

It must be very vexing for Exi, but he’s going to have to do better next time (preferably with evidence to back up his potentially serious accusations).
