I think a vagina is a prerequisite.

Do you have the money for surgery, or are you going to post a Kickstarter, and see if PZ will post it on Pharyngula for you?
I thought there were a few males there.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Robert, I don't tell you enough how much of a good person I think you are. I often feel humbled by you. :hugs:

I know... I could just rape him... :D

Would that be a sin? :pardon:

I don't have any friends that cry over T-shirts, scream harassment when given a naked swingers card, boycott Dawkins because he thinks elevator coffee-asking is innocuous. They are professional victims. But I see your point.
Thing is, seeing "Is it ethical to rape..." actually is a bigger deal than the T-shirt. I just re-watched the elevator video. There was a brief mention of that in an unscripted video. I don't see how it warranted RD's response.
IIRC, all she said was, "Guys, don't do that."

I'm honestly unfamiliar with her work, generally. But I watched that video back in the day and I couldn't understand what the fuss was. About what she said, I mean. It didn't seem unreasonable in any way. As I said at the time, back in the first of Coito's 5 hundred gajillion skepchick-related threads.

Dawkins' response, the "Dear Muslima" letter, well, I think given who he is and his background it's not too surprising to find out he doesn't understand how frightening it can be to ride an elevator in a place you don't know with a person you don't trust. He was out of line. But I think the response to what he wrote was, also (if, IMHO, less so.) I don't understand why people don't try to foster some real understanding with each other, try to see why people hold the attitudes they have when you're trying to get them to comprehend something new.

UGH. Whatever. I really need to shut up now. But can't we all try to get along? Not by condoning what other people do, but by trying to have some compassion, even for your enemies?

I swear I'm not drunk. Shutting up....now.

Indeed; I've been thinking similarly. Can't we just get along, and have some empathy and understanding?

I'd suggest make-up sex - but I fear we've blown that particular diplomatic move.

Maybe we could discuss it over coffee... I mean at a sensible hour, and in public of course... With t-shirts vetted at the door, and asked to be turned inside out if they appear undiplomatic... :shifty:

PZ has requested to be taken off the membership list.

We do not delete accounts here, but we do de-activate them. The next available admin will do that.

He won't be an active member, but as far as I know, we still won't tolerate personal attacks. I'm fine with that.

But dill is almost personal. I demand that all who have made pickling derogatory statements about dill retract them. And also boil fairly new potatoes with dill, then serve it with dill. Dill is a weed! Not fior smoking. Dill seed is junk.

Ah well. With some of the posts tonight I got the feeling he would have been welcomed for real conversation, and that the negativity on this side at least could be got past.

He's missing out on getting to know some great people, that's all I can say.

The rules provide protection from personal attacks and I think Skepchicks are a small and narrowly definable enough group that attacking the Skepchicks as a group would also be considered a personal attack.
Would you please leave the "group insult" rule to the Rational Skepticism forum? It's a can of worms we're better off leaving firmly sealed.

Would you please cite the rule you are referring to?

As for attracting Skepchicks, I'll go with Thinking Aloud.
