A few posts later apparatchik Topsy chimed in in her inimitable style, outlining how the Центральный комитет's logic was unanswerable once again.
I forgot I posted in here, but I now see that post is hilarious and farcical. Dawkins is turning in to a right tosser. Topsy was always an arse as far as I could see, she just couldn't wait to ascend the mod's hierarchy and start banninating people she didn't like. I imagine she was thrashing way on her clitoris as she did it.

I have to say that there is a major credibility issue here. All these people are doing is banning anyone who disagrees, thinks differently, anyone who doesn't think the way they do. I have never been a fan of the 'Dawkins is as bad as any religious bigot' but the truth is that he is dangerously close to making this a reality. Somebody needs to tell these people that they are posting online, not debating at the Oxford Union.

Posting on a forum and then bullying the shit out of anyone that disagrees is not a compelling case for a 'Free Thinking Oasis'. for me the most damning thing is that every time they ban someone they hoist them up for all to see 'LOOK!!!! WE BANNINATED THEM!!!!! WATCH YOUR BACK EVERYONE!!!!!'. I have been registered back there for ages since I was banned, but I really have had no desire to post because I have never come across such a self-involved bunch of knob-jugglers as that.

Ah, good old Thor Halland ... unapologetic Mason, University Challenge winner, and a lot of other things, some of them questionable.

Factory101 seems to have dropped off the radar completely. :dono:

Thor Halland

Non-notable figure who fails WP:BIO. There is a sliver of WP:V via a BBC press release about an appearance on university challenge but that's it. All of the other claims either appear to be a) untrue (film appearances); b) unverifiable from reliable sources or c) trivial mentions of that sort that we do not and cannot construct an article from and were removed - what you see is what we are left with
Incidentally, NineBerry is the second deletion nominator:

I'm not sure if he himself wrote it or otherwise promoted it - maybe you've spotted something I've missed. But given Thor's ego, it must be a bitter pill to swallow. :boohoo:

I assume the Nineberry mentioned on this page is the Nineberry from RDF and elsewhere, especially given that the wiki user has the same personal website. The plot thickens ... :eddy:

EDIT: Snap, I see Pappa noticed the same thing. Must post more quickly ...

I always thought Thor was a total cock, but this is just taking the biscuit and raping it with a twelve inch dildo. A man with an OU degree and hatful of ludicrous opinions thinks it an appropriate use of time and resources to write a wiki page... on HIMSELF? I bet he is a self-made man. He probably worships his creator too. Fuck me, I could write an entire volume on how much of an arse I think this guy is.

An essay would probably do, if you'd like to post it on here at rationalia (hint, hint). I know I could do with a good laugh.

Very true. I got in shit over there because many of the mods there have red sypmathies, and didn't think that was appropriate. It's just the same as inviting someone to moderate who thinks that women belong in the home, or that slavery should be legal, or that teachers should be able to beat their students. Some things are just beyone the scope of acceptable differences in opinion, and when you give positions to these people, you are saying that it is okay for them to hold or endorse these views.

Just to clarify, someone has posted me a PM, rather upset about the OU thing. That's not the point. I am a fan of the OU and I wish knowledge were more accessible than it currently is - I think academic superiority and snobbery in this manner is ridiculous. The point is that an ego of the stature of Thor's logically should look down on the OU, not be a part of it. That's what is so amusing about egomaniacs, their total commitment to making it as difficult as possible for others to climb the ladder they did.

Just have to say something here ... As much as I find the moderation of RDF to be fundamentally negative and counterproductive, creating issues rather than resolving them, I would never characterise any of the staff members in the way Meeky is here. They're regular, fallible people who make mistakes and get away with it for three reasons: the heirarchical structure of the membership/staff dynamic, the design of the guidelines, and the completely impenetrable, isolated exclusivity the staff foster for themselves.

I must say I'm glad I got kicked off the staff, I don't think I could have put up with the regime as it now operates.
