I know that's supposed to be the human, reasonable, decent attitude to take. Well, I think it is. But somebody comes in my house to steal my stuff I'll splatter them across the living room and let the dogs eat the resulting mess.
After making sure to put a butcher knife in his hand to justify the threat to YOUR life of course. And letting dogs eat human flesh is generally a bad idea, lest they decide you're going to be just as tasty.

I don't worry about stuff, I simply assume that anyone who forcibly and unlawfully invades my house while I'm there, and whom I believe is going to use ANY force, no matter how slight, against me or any occupant, is out to kill someone, and I'm going to exercise my right to use deadly force under Colorado's "Castle Doctrine" law that absolves me of both criminal and civil liability.

What connection does this have with what I actually wrote? Or is this more biased, political spin? :ask:
Since he didn't quote you, I'm assuming that's just a general statement of his.

Maybe that's actually how Amused, and those of us who don't share your beliefs about guns feel? Why do you need to label it biased, political spin?
I responded to his post and he posted immediately afterwards. I might be mistaken as to whether or not he intended his post as a response to mine. We'll have to let him answer that one.

What does gun ownership have to do with it? That's a completely different topic. Non sequitur or perhaps a red herring.

I didn't label it as anything. I was asking a rhetorical question.

Civilized humans should not have to put up with this Trayvon nonsense. Trayvon was a violent feral animal, and he was treated as such when he irrationally attacked Zimmerman.
If Blacks had been shipped back to Africa long ago like they should have this would never have happened.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

I implied no such thing, most gun nuts are white.
Actually, most gun nuts are black or Latino and belong to criminal gangs in urban areas.

White folks who own guns are, by and large, law abiding citizens peaceably exercising their right to keep and bear arms.
Living in slums might be a reason to own guns.
For the law abiding minorities who live there, you damned betcha it is, and if they were allowed to do so (which they aren't in most big-city slums) there would be much less crime because they could band together to retake their communities from the criminal gangs and thugs who ILLEGALLY carry guns and predate upon the forcibly-disarmed innocent.
I support no concealed gun law and no stand your ground law.
I hear that a lot from criminal thugs who like unarmed and helpless victims and who don't want to take the chance of being shot. Fuck them.
These people out in public provide no nenefit for me.

In their fenced property or castle they can shoot all they like.
Er, it WAS "fenced property," or had you missed that small fact?
Zimmerman was never safe to anyone else. A walking time bomb.
Well, at least he went off at the right time this time.

Yes. Well, at least those who claim to know what happened that night betwen those two people. As for me, all I've been trying to do is point out that no one here really does know, and I think that agrees with the gist of your statement.

You still haven't answered on what basis do you say "he probably spends most of his day with his gun. At least all his free time?" I suggested one possible reason, and you've said that's not it. So, what's your basis, if other than "I'm just making it up?"

Half of all gun homicides are by African Americans, who represent about 13% of the population. But, the "gun nuts" are generally white, in your view?

What's a "gun nut" to you? Someone who has a gun? If not the mere fact of having a gun, then what causes a gun owner to be a nut?

This gated community situation is unclear to me so go ahead and clarify it. What gate?

My statement was just opinion about communities such as mine.

"My daddy has a gun in the garage attic" resulted in my daughter never babysitting that family again.

Sorry folks, Im on iPhone. Minimizing typos.

Coito: if you keep a gun in your night stand, not a nut. Hunter: usually not a nut. Seth: gun nut.

>>You still haven't answered on what basis do you say "he probably spends most of his day with his gun. <<

Guesswork. Also, people are not that different. A tree hugger a gun nut, a soccer mom or a birder all fit my preconceived idea, and I almost never have to change my opinion.
