Thanks. I got enough beer for the day, and if not, I'll just switch to plan B - there's also a litre of Stoli in the fridge. Heh!

Cheers. I've not so much reinvented myself, but returned to a previous theme that began to develop in 1990 or 91. This one is an alias I chose when I joined another forum in 2003. 'Seraph' was the first departure from it. That was in 2007, when I joined RDF.

Employing a label for a class of angels in a basically atheistic community was meant to be a bit of a joke, and sure enough, some forum members initially addressed me in a manner that clearly indicated they regarded me as a theist. A little twist amused me privately: In medieval times some theologians held that Lucifer was originally one of the Seraphim. And another, following that: Lucifer means "the bringer of light". Much like Prometheus did, he turned primate animals into humans. He just did it by seducing us to eat from the tree of knowledge, while the Greek reprobate did it with the gift of fire. Both, of course, were expelled from the heavenly spheres for their actions by their respective gods. The deception of the alias and the irony beyond it appealed to me, but I had some reservations about it right from the outset. One of them was that, unlike my other aliases, it did not describe me at all.

Hi Hermit! Hope you enjoy yourself here! :flowers:
