That's a war movie. It might be horrifying, but it's a different genre.
Don't mind me.

Speaking of-- is Alien really a horror movie? Isn't it an action film?
The green careening planet
spins blindly in the dark
so close to annihilation.

Listen. No one listens. Meow.

I've gotta tell you guys, I think Rosemary's Baby is a comedy.

Maybe that's just me.

I love Ruth Gordon.

It's a "alien ate my brain" horror. Not a Gothic horror, despite the attempts to light it like one.

Well then, it's on my list. What a great movie. And the Alien haunted my dreams for years.

Dead of Night (the one from 1945). A lot of it is hokey, and you can see where The Twilight Zone came from. But the mirror sequence still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. That one shot in the mirror where you see the whole room...

*shiver*
I think that language has a lot to do with interfering in our relationship to direct experience. A simple thing like metaphor will allows you to go to a place and say 'this is like that'. Well, this isn't like that. This is like this.
