Wonder if I can out-chip-on-shoulder CES? At a disadvantage as American shoulder-chips must be bigger and better than Yerpeein ones...

How dare you say such a preposterous thing ye brit of little faith.
WE are the folk of culture and refinement who have been brought low by the fact that our colonies have benefitted from an advantage of scale allowing them to outgun us in numbers and resources, that's all.

I am pretty sure that Old Swift meant the land of the Houynhms to be the New World.... except the place is now overrun by the bipeds.

The parents of the English guy who was killed sound pretty clueless.
How can Obama, or anybody else, wade in when this kid was being tried for murder?

It sounds like the parents are no more clued up than their children. You can see where they got it from.
We all know that the Telegraph is just crap, but even they could have placed this in context.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.

Can't be. Merkin chips are, like everything else, paltry imitations of proper Yerpeein chips. And, in Merka we have fries on our shoulders, not chips.

Merkin furniture is so bad because it's mostly made of mushy friesboard and imitation naugahyde.

But to whom? I notice you had to hire a Siamese because no Merkin could have done the job.

Please, it's a Thai cat. There hasn't been a Siam for 70 years.

What do British people call tortilla chips? Crisps? Tortilla crisps? Tortilla fries? Savoury tortilla snacks?

Not sure think we just called them tortilla, calling them whatever Americans call them would make sense through as they are basically North American
