Watched Midnight in Paris the other night. Woody Allen (think won best original screenplay Oscar). I liked it, a light, frothy confection.

Saw The Grey last night.
I'd tell you about it but I don't want to ruin for you.
Except this........, there is a kind of easter egg, an additional--but very short--scene after the credits.

Can't find this anywhere. Is it a film? I can only find the (excellent) Marilyn Monroe/Clark Gable film and a few others that don't look promising...Pappa wrote:You should check out Misfits, a black comedy with a similar theme.Rum wrote:Agreed 100%. So instead we saw this little film which we had barely heard of.
I love that, when you know nothing about a film and it turns out to be one of the best you've seen in a while, at least from Hollywood. When the film began and I saw it was a camcorder movie I must admit my heart sank. I have never liked any of those movies.
I don't want to give too much away but it's basically about three teens who discover an undefined something under ground which leaves them all with telekenetic powers. Through out the film we see their advancing powers chronicled through various footage taken from all types of cameras, from mobile phones to security cameras but mainly through the lead protagonist's home video camera.
The three leads work really well together and there are some great laugh out loud moments as they goof around with their new found abilities in a way I found quite convincing.
A great movie and deserving of a lot more attention. Imagine what teenage lads who suddenly had telekinetic powers might do in real life and - well it was 'realistic' oddly!

We just saw "Ghostrider". Very different from the first one, he's not even riding a chopper.
There was one cameo we both liked however, an internet legend that, AFAIK, has never been in a movie before.

Yeah, I like it better than Heroes because it doesn't take itself too seriously

The humour of this film was exactly my type of dark, twisted and sadistic humour. It crossed every line possible. Just a pity it was so goddamn uneven.
Ellen Page was great in it as the psychopathic sidekick. Not to everyone's taste, or anyone who has taste, but I enjoyed it, except when I didn't (remember uneven).

W.R. - Mysteries of the Organism
Hmmmm..... very odd film. Part documentary about orgone energy guy Wilhelm Reich, part video collage, part critique of totalitarianism, part celebration of free-love and individuality, part celebration of an idealised Communism, part film about boners and orgasms, part film about weird American therapies...
It does get a little boring towards the end, but not hugely so. There is a theme tying all this together but not one I feel easily able to describe.
